New WETA Collectibles

^ The TARDIS looks pretty neat, though the price is shown as being both $549.99 and just $49.99, depending on what page you're on.

The cheaper price is just the pre-order down payment. It's around $600! I wish I could afford it.

Meanwhile, though, I just pre-ordered the 4th, 5th, and 6th Doctor figures, and won the Comi-Con exclusive Timecrash set of figures on eBay (it's the only Davison figure with the celery on the lapel...the other doesn't have it for some reason)... :techman:

just looked at the Time Crash set, I was expecting it to be the aged 5th Doctor, since that is what was on screen.

not that it matters, very few of them will ever be take out of the box

Yeah, but the face looks like a slightly different mold than the regular 5th Doc (at least it did on the screen). Is it the same mold?

And does anyone know why they didn't include the celery on the non-Timecrash set?

^ Maybe that 5th Doctor figure is supposed to be specifically from "Castrovalva" when he didn't have the celery yet. Or maybe he ate it. :D Seems odd not to have it though.

Anyone know if Forbidden Planet takes overseas orders? I have this horrible image of these things selling out before us US fans get a shot at them.

And where is Peter's celery? Hmmm...
He ate it.

Doubtful. ;)

It is officially said to be the 5th Doctor as seen in "Resurrection of the Daleks", sorry. :p But anyway, that means there's no doubt that they messed up, since he obviously wears the celery in that episode.

I certainly hope so....that's who I pre-ordered them from!

There are a small number of the stand-alone Davison's being released with the celery. Basically it's a cynical ploy to create a 'collector's item' variant.

The celery-free 5th Doctor figure is also available at Pixel Barrel here in Canada, as well as the Comic-Con exclusives like the "Father's Day" 9th Doctor and the "Time Crash" 2-pack featuring 5th & 10th.

Yeah, I've got the TimeCrash set, the stand-alone 4th, 5th, and 6th Doctors, and just recieved the variant 9th Doctor, as well. I hope by the end of the year I can get all of Wave 1, as I want to be able to build the K-1 Robot... ;)

Damnit hurry up Weds! I need my paycheck so I can get my order in!

(still having these horrible nightmares of the figures becoming 'rare collectors items' only available for $100 on Evilbay.)
