Enterprise-F but at least 20 years after the events of nemesis. That way you can justify having patrick stewert and the gang guest star, but have the events of this new show not tied into the last one as much.
Hard to say. I always wanted a Pike series or Enterprise-C series but with the new movie coming out, I'm not so sure.
If the movie is a hit, will it turn into another TOS series? Lots of things against it. Most parts would probably have to be re-cast (I doubt the actors would want to do a TV series after a successful movie.)
Also, how would you re-do TOS? Would you re-start the 5 year mission? Would you have completely different missions and ignore the others? Would you re-write the older episodes? I doubt they would go in that direction.
I'm thinking they would go 78 years AFTER TNG, the way they did TNG after TOS. Far enough into the future where you could start fresh.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see what type of impact the new movie has.
If they wanted to make it interesting they could cover the Romulan War. I foresee issues if you go too far beyond TNG-the technology is either so advanced the viewer's head would spin like Linda Blair's or the tech would be portrayed in an insufficiently advanced way-my argument being that it would be hard to extrapolate the tech to the 25th century and still come up with conflict issues that the new tech couldn't instantly solve.
25th century.
I would think a story about a Star ship sent to investigate a Star Fleet distress signal from deep space between our galaxy and say Andromeda . Because of the duration of the mission the ship could be commanded by a long living species like a Vulcan and the crew could be holograms with mobile emitters. It would truly be ..Going where no one has gone before..
ST:TNG, DS9, Voyager characters can plausibly make guest appearances, but the show clearly belongs to a new era.
From a production and FX standpoint, you could legitimately have ships like Sovereigns, Defiants, Intrepids, Galaxys, Nebulas, Akiras all make appearances when you needed fleet sequences.
