New Trailer OFFICIALLY Online - HD

I think Saldana's delivery was fine... the problem is her voice just doesn't sound like the Uhura we're used to.

I don't know... Perhaps the context of it is off or something. I just watched it again on Youtube, and it just doesn't fit. Could be her voice. I'll reserve judgment until I've seen this delivery in the film itself.

Have you got a youtube link for the trailer with Saldana's line in?

Go to this page of trekmovie http://trekmovie.com/2009/03/05/new-star-trek-trailer-online/

It's the video where it says UK version trailer

Does anyone know where the music is from? Is that actually from Trek XI or from something else? It fit the trailer perfect!

The music sounds lifted from "Batman Begins." Anyone else get that? It's not unusual for trailers to borrow music from other movies.

Yes, I mentioned it yesterday in response to others trying to pin down where they heard it before. (in the now closed trailer thread)

I'm pretty familiar with the Batman soundtracks and, while this definitely has a Zimmer vibe, it's not from Batman Begins or The Dark Knight.

It has a BB/DK vibe for me. It may not be lifted right off those films soundtracks but a definite similarity is there, IMO.

Literally, this made tears well up in my eyes. Especially the part when Kirk takes command. If I wasn't at work, I would've cried like a baby. :alienblush: Awesome. Very moving. I really can't put it into words. I want to just loop it on my computer screen. Why do I have to be at work right now?! :scream:

May seems way too far away.
I feel exactly the same way. My kids have seen the earlier trailers and are very excited about the new release. Tori, my BSG / Firefly superfan, is over tonight and she is going to be BLOWN AWAY!!!

My friend John (in IT) is downloading the HD version right now on the big monitor and is going to call me in before he plays it for he department :bolian:

Here's one from io9 that has the line in it. I liked the line reading, it made me think that Uhura's going to be pretty assertive. Her hugging Spock moves so much. So neat. This trailer had strong big moments like Vulcan or some Vulcan-like planet imploding! and strong small moments like that hug or Jennifer Morrison crying while holding baby Jim.

That's an amazing trailer, all around. Time to watch it again.

Thanks for the Saldana line links, peeps.

Not the greatest delivered line by Saldana in the history of cinema, but Pine nailed Kirk in his reply. For a split second, I saw 60's Shatner.

I just watched the HD version for the first time! Man Incredible! :techman:

Stupid fucking trailer gave me chills. Can't remember the last time that happened with something Trek-related.
Yeah, I saw it as well, and it was the best trailer I've probably ever seen. I also think it's the best trailer so far to give general audiences an idea as to what is going on.

Oh and Nero's voice when he says his James T Kirk was a great man line kind of sounds weird to me like he's mocking someone with how he says it.

I bet when he says the "another life" line, he is mocking Kirk. I wouldn't be surprised if they are locked in their arch nemesis death struggle at the end of the movie.
I wonder if it might be a final, epic battle between Nero and Old Spock?

"You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I come beat you with until you understand who's in rutting command around here."

Now I'm scared. I don't want to get my hopes up, because I don't want to get disapointed, but dammit, this looks GOOD!

Looks like the official trailer cut the Kirk-Uhura scene where Uhura says "I sure hope you know what you're doing" and Kirk replies "So do I."

I said it before the movie was even made and I'll say it again...This will be the best Trek movie to date!

The U.S. version apparently replaces that with the shot of Spock looking at Kirk, but the Uhura/Kirk bit stays in the UK version.
