New Trailer OFFICIALLY Online - HD

I think the line that Nero say's about Kirk is broken up, I mean it sounds like he say's " James T. Kirk was a great man"........something in between..." That was another life" I've watched the trailer 10 times now and I didn't notice it untill the 9th time.

Any chance of converting those HUGE images to links? The threadstretching is a little extreme....

yeah sorry dude i didnt know u put this up, so i put some more up sorry. yeah i dont see a problem dude. the pics are in 720p lol
The pics are 1920 pixels wide. I have a 1024x768 display.

:rommie::rommie::techman:

I have to say I have always been a mild Star Trek fan always enjoyed and watched all the movies and series, but that trailer is the most EPIC trailer ever for any Star Trek movie, maybe it is the music & the nostalgia combined with awesome scenes.

If this trailer does not get you pumped up and excited about this movie nothing will. I have friends that almost never go to see movies, but they are going to see this.:) We will be doing the group thing which we have not done in a very long time. If the type of people that never even went to see Batman, actually decide to go see this movie, it's going do very well.

i can cleraly see the numbers 152 on the saucer debris, i wonder what ship it was??

The problem is twofold, actually. First, TrekBBS policy concerning the posting of images reads thus, addressing size first:

Picture Size: Images are to be no larger than 640X480. We would also like you to bear in mind our users on dial-up and keep the image filesize as close to 70 KB as possible. Obviously, the image size rules are more relaxed in threads that have a warning in the title that there are large images, such as caption threads or member photo threads.
The ones you posted were 1920px × 800px and 239.17 KB.

Each.

Which is way too big.

The policy goes on to say this:

Hotlinking: You may only post pictures which are hosted by you. If you see a picture online and it doesn't violate that sites copyright restrictions, please save the image locally, then upload it to your photo hosting space on the Web (i.e. your own personal website, or a hosting service like flickr, ImageShack or Photobucket). Do not post a picture that is hosted on any other website or webspace that isn't yours (this is known as hotlinking).

Large or hotlinked images will be edited out of posts or turned into links, and users posting them may receive warnings.
TrekCore very kindly provides a great service to Trek fans by maintaining a library of screencaps and allows us to use them in certain ways. What they are not is a hosting service. By posting their screencaps here as inline images, you were essentially stealing their bandwidth, which is generally considered really bad form and is against TrekBBS policy.

Since you're new, I might have been inclined to let this slide with a verbal "don't do that again" if it weren't for your response to people asking you to correct the thread-stretching problem:

That cavalier reply says to me that you don't care to play by the rules and don't care whether you inconvenience the other people posting on the board, so you now have a warning for a rather spectacular violation of image-posting policy to give you some small reason to reconsider.

After seeing the trailer in HD, you really can't watch it any other way.

Oh, and I just watched a trailer on YouTube that had a few different shots: The shot of Spock sitting in the captain's chair is replaced by a shot of Chekov, and the shots later in the trailer of Kirk and Spock glancing at each other are replaced by a shot of Uhura saying to Kirk "I hope you know what you're doing" and Kirk responding "So do I."

Foreign trailer, perhaps? Until now, I had only seen the one shown in the states.

So, got it uploaded for those who want a different format. Here at 720P, enter the letters to download. Sorry it took so long, fell asleep as it was uploading, actually.

I was impressed that you kept the 5.1 sound mix intact btw and didn't reduce it to 2 chan like most folk do when converting dvd rips to xvid/divx. Not only does it look great on my setup, it sounds superb.
Thank you, I've done my fair share of video conversions.

In case anyone's wondering, the trailer music is once again done by Two Steps From Hell - it's a modified version of "Freedom Fighters" from their album "Legend."
