New Trailer OFFICIALLY Online - HD

In case anyone's wondering, the trailer music is once again done by Two Steps From Hell - it's a modified version of "Freedom Fighters" from their album "Legend."

And that must be the only track of theirs NOT on youtube. :brickwall:
I did run across one, but it had already been yanked for copyright reasons.

The music is...out there...if one's Google-Fu is decent. :shifty:

EDIT: In fact, Two Steps From Hell released a statement about the track here.

There has been a lot of interest in the Freedom Fighters music in the new Star Trek trailer (thanks!) so here’s some more information for you. The executives at Paramount studios ultimately had the final say in what music was used for the trailer. They ended up liking the music so much they wanted exclusive rights to use it (to avoid us from licensing it to other advertisement campaigns). This does however not mean that the music cannot be published on CD, and we’ll likely include the modified version on one of our future public releases.

Feel free to virtually slap me if this has been discussed already, but I have a distinct feeling that Spock's line about "experiencing fear in the face of certain death" will most certainly be him talking about the Kobayashi Maru scenario. I believe we've heard it will be part of the story, and his line is a fitting description of the simulation.

For those who are wondering about the nature of the debris the Enterprise is flying through near the end of the trailer, I think we're looking at the destroyed remains of the large space station in Earth orbit that was seen in the previous trailer, the one that looked a bit like an oversized K-7 variant.

I thought so too, which...
that since Kirk and McCoy and Sulu are in red and Spock is in black in this scene, that Spock is already a commissioned officer, possibly a student instructor. I think he has something to do with getting Kirk reprimanded after he tries to cheat on the test. It also reinforces my belief that when Pike delivers his speech to Kirk in the bar, Kirk has been to the academy already and was washed out for cheating, and it takes Pike's involvement to get Kirk back in Starfleet. I'm thinking TWoK's 'commendation for original thinking' might come later, if at all in this timeline.

No, I think not. I think its the remains of the vessels that warped to Vulcan in response to their emergency distress call. They got there before the Enterprise, and were wiped out by the Narada. You can clearly see starship registry numbers on the wrecked saucer hulls, and there's even a nacelle or two floating around.

Some of them look Kelvin-styled. I wonder if there'll be a Kelvin-styled Constitution class ship shown?

I think some of the debris is from other starships but there is one shot with a gicantic saucer-shaped object in the background that is many times larger than any starship primary hull we've ever seen. We do know that the Narada attacks Earth at some point so it's not out of the question that the station we saw in the earlier trailer was a casualty of that attack. Or it's also possible that Vulcan had a similar station in orbit.

Just saw it, and wow.
Goosebumps. Long time since a trailer did that.

Can't wait to see this film!

That or Starfleet has a really big ship class that they use souly to defend major federation planets.

Loved it.

Amazing.

Never has a trailer made me want to see a movie more than this. The trailer has been edited in such an epic way, its astounding.

I love the Pike/Kirk confrontation in the bar, the voive over from pike in the opening seconds made it stand out.

Visuals are stunning to say the least.

Then the usual headshots of the characters and a shot montage. We can only hope the movie stands upto the hype.

Saw this in the theatre yesterday for the first time. Wanted to wait as I knew I'd see it with Watchmen and wanted to see this one for the first time on the big screen.

I thought it was the best one yet. :techman:

Well my family are sold on this now, they where going to watch it with me at the cinema but they weren't exactly enthusiastic about it... now they can't wait to go and even want to go watch it in IMAX, yay :D

This will also do well in DVD/Bluray as a nice movie to show off their flat screen tvs and projectors, kind of like Matrix was/is because it looks so good.

I'm a bit annoyed that I saw Watchmen twice at two different theaters and neither showing had this trailer attached.

Oh my fucking GOD! That is brilliant. That looks brilliant. Just the sheer physics of the ships is fantastic in them selves, but this is a great great trailer! Wish I had that version of the music, only found a similar but not exactly like that one.

I am there opening day :D
