New Torchwood: A New World Details

I imagine Jack is a lot like T-1000. His parts find each other and recombine somehow. Even if he were disintegrated, his atoms would eventually coalesce.
Indeed. As I understand it his immortality is a gift of the Time Vortex and so it doesn't really matter whether or not he gets blasted to atoms; his body will be restored regardless. I imagine that it happens every few minutes whether or not he expires.

Remember that's how we found out he was the face of bo, he said that he's still ageing, even had a few grey hairs... Jack is over a thousand years older than he was when he had that conversation with the Doctor and Martha.

Yeah, the Doctor described Jack as a "fact" of existence that not even he could do anything about. I imagine even being disintegrated would only give him a few moments' pause.

Jack got blown to pieces in "Children of Earth." He managed to get better.
ive always wondered what would happen if Jack was hit with some sort of death ray, ripping every atom apart? (or just got lost in a transporter pattern buffer)

We saw what would happen if Jack were ever hit by a disintegration ray in "Utopia." Radiation that utterly vaporized a normal man just didn't do anything to him.

I always thought that scene played wrong, we should have seen him constantly vaporised and come back--story wise and effects wise it wouldn't be possible, but Jack isn't invulnerable to pain/damage, he's just able to recover from it.

Maybe, although supposedly lesser damage takes a lot longer for him to recover from! (see how long it took for the various bits of him to reform in COE)

There is no real consistency to Jack's deaths and subsequent resurrections. Sometimes he's out for a few minutes and when he awakens he takes big gulps of air. Others he awakens quietly mere seconds after being killed. One could argue that different deaths have different effects, and while that's true to an extent, I get the impression that all the various times we see him killed, how that death and resurrection is dealt with is simply a matter of what the writer feels is the most convenient for the story purposes. The way it should be, I guess.

Jacks revival being linked to the Time Vortext is one possilbilty, I wonder what would happen if Jack was to be somewhere with no time (and by extension no Time Vortex), quite how he gets to that place I dont know, but then who know there was a void between realitys that Void ships could hide in.

Bingo. The Doctor asked Jack if he wanted to die with dead seriousness. Jack said he didn't know, and then said seeing people like the ones trying to get to Utopia made him want to keep going.

I get the feeling the Doctor could end Jack's existence if Jack wanted it. If Jack had said, "I'd give anything to die" the Doctor likely knows how to make it happen.

you have to wonder what Jack would have said if the Doctor had asked him that after Children of Earth.

That said if the Doctor knows he is the Face of Boe (if that is the case) then the Doctor knows that Jack dies, but is wondering how a man who will live so long, feels about living that long. Which actually shouldnt be a big deal for him, being a timelord and all.

I believe the Watcher took Adric and Nyssa "out of time" in Logopolis, so, yea, if being out of time could do the trick, I'm sure the Doctor could do it for Jack

EW is reporting - http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/01/13/lauren-abrose-torchwood-exclusive/ -

Lauren Ambrose, who may be famous for her role in Six Feet Under, as the redhead (but I've never seen the show - I'm a fan of hers from Psycho Beach Party, where she proved she has exceptional range as an actress), is joining for seven of the ten episodes. She will be

playing Jilly Kitzinger — “a sweet-talking PR genius with a heart of stone who’s just cornered the most important client of her career … and maybe of all time.”

I just watched her in Can't Hardly Wait the other day wondering if she's ever going to recover from the whiplash of the immediate cancellation of The return of Jezzebelle James.

Neighbours & All My Children, that isnt inspiring

any chance that Dichen Lachman was good on Dollshouse?
Being on a Soap doesn't make you a bad actor. Dont know about the UK, but in America a lot of the soap actors work long days five days a week close to year round. Many also do work on Broadway at the same time. Some of the younger ones need a little "practice" or are just pretty people, but thats the same in film and night time tv too.
