New to Who

 That's kind of crazy!

Btw I don't know how other countries Netflixes are but the background screen to Doctor Who (when an episode is finished and a new one is starting) in mine is Eleven and Amy in the TARDIS! I find that really funny. Not Ten or even Twelve, who is the current Doctor. Just had to share that.

20 people have been barking comforting facts at you for three months, maybe half of us have even said something relevant, but at some point in the future, either IRL or in some new thread, you are going to come face to face with a new Noob: Noob the Next Generation, and it will be your responsibility to do to them, what we have done to you.

Do you feel ready?

I feel fairly confident I could guide someone through the unknown. Whether or not I'd be of any help is another story.

I feel the need to rant. I knew it was coming but I didn't think it would happen so soon. Rose gets a happy ending and poor Donna gets completely screwed over!! That's just so freaking wrong.

I might be alone in this but I think Journey's End would have been an appropriate time for the Doctor to regenerate. He had had one last hurrah with his friends, it made sense.

Now the next few episodes are just him by himself?

Tennant wanted to do live Hamlet some place classy for a year.

(There's a professional copy of one of his performances someone in your local Wallmart.)

He agreed to do 5 movie length movies in 2009 rather than 14 episodes. Well, 3 movie length movies, and one Dances with Wolves extended length movie, that was cut in half between Christmas and new Years Day.

The Next Doctor, Planet of the dead, Waters of Mars, The End of Time, part 1, and the End of Time Part 2.

Because they are movies and not episodes, your Netflix may list these movies in a different area, or maybe not even have the rights to these stories at all, so you may have to go elsewhere to get your fix.

I'd hardly call the specials "movies" and Tennant was able to play Hamtlet only because of the break in seasons.

He did Regenerate, but, he chose to keep the same face.

he had vanity issues then. ;)

Yeah I know about that. The non-regeneration not the vanity issues. Luckily my Netflix has all the specials as a part of series 4 so no internet video hunting for me! I hear that Waters Of Mars is really good. Any truth to that?

Best of a bad bunch in my opinion.

There is a certain irony in you asking Timelord Victorious about "Waters of Mars" that you will understand after seeing the episode.

I quoted the Doctor himself on the vanity issues. He said that to Clara in Time of...

Don't forget Dreamland, which while irrelevant, production-wise, still counts, continuity-wise as sometime around Waters on Mars.

The ship from Dreamland, which makes it a crossover and therefore canon, is also used in an Episode of Sarah Jane Adventures.

haha, I'm the exact opposite. I found The Infinite Quest far more watchable. It's a proper digital series, made for those bitesize chunks of its original release, but those chunks are good. For me Dreamland wanted to be a full blown episode, and with some dodgy CGI and a tired story.

I've watched The Next Doctor and Planet Of The Dead. Neither were all that great. Obviously I'm going to watch the next three but it feels like overkill. I get the Christmas special but were all these other specials really necessary? Couldn't they have just done The Next Doctor and The End Of Time two-parter? Was there a reason for the excess solo adventures?
