New to Who

Woah. First of all Guy, I commend you for going back through all those pages just to find that post. Secondly, that was weeks ago! I was on Team Rory by the end of The Big Bang. Third, what was the purpose of quoting my post?

Although, I agree that Love and Monsters, isn't very good as a Doctor Who episode, I think it does have some fun in it. Certainly more fun elements to get you through the episode, then some of the other bad Doctor Who Episodes

The Nerd Herd forming LINDA
ELO
Jackie Chasing after Elton

Nah. I'm good. I did get to the montage of them forming LINDA though.

I now have season 2 under my belt and overall it was kind of disappointing, like the episodes could have been better. The whole Doctor/Rose love story seemed very one-sided. It was clear early on that she was head over heels for him but when exactly did he feel the same? I felt like the last 10 minutes of Doomsday he just suddenly loved her, and why?

Then now is the right time for this (any chance to post it again. One "minor" spoiler in this  )

Haha! I've got one!

Rose: Tell me you love me!
Doctor: But I don't. I only came to see you because I needed a refresher on my former masturbatory inspiration. I'm so so sorry.

Btw, I already know about the duplicate Doctor.

River Song and the Doctor is complicated. You'll see when you finally bump into her again with Tennant.

Rose and the Doctor also had bits from the Ninth Doctor in it. From the later half of that season. The Tenth Doctor said it though when Rose brought it up after meeting Sarah Jane Smith. Rose could spend her entire life with him, but he couldn't spend his entire life with her. She could be around for 1 percent of this life and have meaning, but he'd still have to bare the loss of her eventually.

This is also were River Song comes in as complicated. In theory, he could spend his entire life with her, and her with him. In theory anyway. Living in the reverse order complicates things, as does doing stuff because it already happened complicated it even more.

Imagine going back in time to convince your younger self of your Rorylove.

First she would slap you, and then she would conspire to collapse your timeline, because she has proof that you have gone insane, and Young Janeway's Girl never wants to risk growing up into being a Rorylover somehow like you already did.

Classic grandfather paradox.

Imagine a day where the words "hello sweetie" mean nothing to the Doctor.

Imagine a day when Amy will be a Roman, but not Amy.

Imagine an evil Time Lord.

You have a lot to do.

I'm sure Young Me would also slap me around for being a Claralover as well! Lots of slapping, not sure I like that. I'm a pretty hard slapper. But I bet I could take myself!

An evil Time Lord? Now that's scarier than a bajillion Weeping Angels!

I'm three episodes into the third season and it's a lot better. I liked Donna (she comes back, right) and I'm liking Martha. I'm finding the storylines are more interesting as well. Why did the Doctor only promise Martha one trip?

Regarding the end of The Shakespeare Code, the Queen refers to the Doctor as her enemy. He married her in The Day Of The Doctor, she was obviously younger then. So I gather that he must have ticked her off somehow during the years between?

Um, no. He NEVER showed up in the years between. EVER. Literally ditched her at the altar. No wedding night*, no marital bliss, no kids, in an age where divorce was handled with an executioner's axe and the runaway groom was nowhere in sight. And as he hadn't yet married or even met her (from his POV) in 'The Shakespeare Code,' he didn't even understand why, after several chaste decades, she might be just a little bit angry about that.

* Steven Moffat: "I never said - not once, not ever - that the (pre-marriage) relationship wasn't consummated...!"

That's what I was getting at, probably should have just said that. Okay I get that he can't really share a life with someone, so why the heck would he marry her with no intention of following through? Kind of a douchebaggy thing to do. Poor Lizzie.

To quote Bill Cosby as Noah: Riiiiiight.

To Quote the Tenth Doctor: "...and let me tell you her nickname is no longer, (cough) khmmm."
