Not sure a spoiler is needed given the majority of people will have seen the trailer and hence seen an eystalk.

New pics have come out today however, pics and comments that suggest we might be seeing a whole host of Daleks from a whole host of eras...

And from the BBC itself

Maybe the nuDaleks pop back to Skaro for some redesign tips when they realise they're having trouble getting through doorways now their bums are that big :)

Not much had been confirmed about the Doctor's forthcoming adventures but we think it's safe to say we can expect to see the return of perhaps the Doctor's most legendary foe. Here are some sneaky pictures fresh from the set of Doctor Who where the Daleks are being wheeled before the cameras once again. But which design? The answer is ALL OF THEM!

Well that would certainly seem to be implied, let's hope so, even if it's just a wrecked one in the corner!

BBC says "all designs." Might one be hopeful and think this could even include a classic era design?

Let me put it this way - that black one is definitely not Dalek Sec. All the RTD era Daleks had a raised rim around the globes on the skirt- you can see it on the muddy/dirty Dalek - and the black one doesn't have that... Nor is it a Fatlek, as they have a sort of cartouche on each panel, enclosing all four globes on a panel.

Also, I think the lighting is lying to us on that one- Those globes are black, but I think the skirt panels are very dark grey... Which means it's *probably* a 70s-style Classic Series version, or at least a new repro of one.

Of others, in order of appearance on that BBC link, they are:

A dirty RTD-era NSD
A New Paradigm Fatlek gun
Hard to tell - an NSD-style gold skirt globe, but on a Fatlek orange body?
A damaged NSD plunger

The black one is funny looking.
It could be a 70's one with the wheely base removed?
Perhaps what we're seeing is a flange on the skirt which will later be covered by a fat base. The exposed bolt holes make it seem that way.

Anybody who went to the Doctor Who Experience in London would have been introduced to the idea of a Dalek Civil War (in a interactive scene written by Moffat). So basically they're going to wipe out the Fatleks and bring the decent looking Daleks back again.

I'm a model/propmaking hobbyist and I'm just impressed by the amount of detail that went into the gunstick. Thats some nice work.

I wonder if this means we'll be seeing Skaro in this series? That'd certainly be one place that I'd imagine all of the different designs being situated.

I thought Skaro was destroyed. Well I guess if Gallifrey can return than so can Skaro. It would be nice if there were a few Timelord survivors, The last survivor of a doomed planet thing has been done to death with Superman, and even then his cousin Supergirl shows up along with the city of Kandor. Maybe The Doctor's new companion will be a Timelord, or at least Jenny regenerated.

Shame the new Daleks never caught on. I understand the complaints about the hump-back, but I was really digging the retro 60s colors and larger, more imposing size. :(

New New Skaro.

Yes, Skaro was destroyed in Rememberance of the Daleks. But then the opening scene of the 96 telemovie takes place on Skaro, and the New Paradigm announced they were going to Skaro in Victory of the Daleks.

Really, if the Daleks can survive half a dozen extinctions and Davros can survive every death scene he's ever had, even the one that happened off screen, then I see no reason why Skaro can't some how be revisited.

The paradigm Daleks wouldn't know Skaro was destroyed would they? Or they could just rename a planet Skaro.

^ You are, of course, all perfectly entitled to that opinion, so long as you know it's wrong.

(Actually, the NPDs look OK from the front. But that hump is just stupid and instead of the height making them more looming or imposing, they look ready to topple forward at any moment.

I think the Daleks only ever looked cool in "Dalek." The Dalek in that episode looked like it was actually made of metal; it looked heavy because the damn thing didn't slide around easily or wobble all the time; it didn't bob its eyestock up and down every time it spoke. It looked genuinely menacing and alien. Every Dalek since has just seemed cartoonish.
