25*(7/9*8)/(7/8*9)=25!!But seven's eyepiece is only 8% larger
OMG, it's a conspiracy!
25*(7/9*8)/(7/8*9)=25!!But seven's eyepiece is only 8% larger
That almost certainly was the case.
Speaking of which, why was Six afraid of Seven?25*(7/9*8)/(7/8*9)=25!!
OMG, it's a conspiracy!
Ugh, what is it with Nu-Trek fanboys and this disingenous line of semantics?Saying that something doesn't "feel like Star Trek" is a meaningless statement. If the show/movie has the words "Star Trek" in the title, then it's Star Trek regardless of how one feels about it.
More meaningless drivel
I hope so, but from what I've seen in this trailer and how this franchise has been handled for the past decade, doubt it.You're probably wrong.
No it isn't. You can have modern production and still stay true to the tone of previous Trek series. Also modern production doesn't mean "everything has to be grimdark and actually physically dark". Look at Marvel to see that colourful and brightly lit does perfectly well and look at stuff like Arrival, Interstellar, Ex Machina or Annihilation to see that more philosophical, non-action takes on Sci-fi are still very popular. Hell even the new Alien films like Prometheus and Alien Covenant were sold far more on their hard-sci fi elements than the action.2) Kurtzman (Bad Robot is not involved) is also called MODERN 21st century production
Discovery is just fine and season 2 had some of the best writing in Trek. It had a few problems but so has EVERY other Trek if you can take of your rose colored glasses.
Oh common, "because Seven as a Six offender" I learned this stuff in grade schoolSpeaking of which, why was Six afraid of Seven?
Kor
25*(7/9*8)/(7/8*9)=25!!
OMG, it's a conspiracy!
Well, I heard it said that Seven Ate (Eight) Nine!Oh common, "because Seven as a Six offender" I learned this stuff in grade school![]()
Cannot rule that outThat can only mean one thing, she is a Changeling!
Return of the Dominion!
They are not illegitimate. I like nu trek for the same reasons I like old trekI don't know why the Disco fanboys on this forum find it so incomprehensible that people dislike Discovery and the direction of Star Trek for the past decade under JJ/Kurtzman/Goldsman for actual legitimate reaso
They're a minority. When huge portions of the fandom say that this doesn't "feel" like Star Trek
Can't put something back together that was vaporized.5) Data got put back together
From the trailer and the announcement at SDCC, you can pretty much figured out what the pilot (first 2 hours) is all about:
1) Picard retired at his farm
2) Someone needs his help
3) Picard went to Starfleet for help but got rejected
4) Picard has to round up a new crew
5) Data got put back together
6) Borg related mission ensued (Hugh?)
7) Picard got his groove back (with 7’s help?)
8) Mission went over everybody’s head
9) Ship about to be destroyed
10) Riker and Troy showed up in a Starfleet ship (Enterprise F?) to save Picard and his crew at the end.
Ugh, what is it with Nu-Trek fanboys and this disingenous line of semantics?
When huge portions of the fandom say that this doesn't "feel" like Star Trek they're talking in general about the tone and storytelling that Trek is known for. From the trailer Picard looks like typical action schlock with a bad guy and "fate of the entire universe" stuff with tedious mystery boxes. This is not what most Star Trek fans watch Star Trek for. Sure throw Star Trek on any old crap and it's "technically" Star Trek, but that doesn't mean that Star Trek as a franchise doesn't have it's own personality, tone and language that it's known for. Crap like Discovery, Into Darkness, even Nemesis don't have that visual or storytelling language that Trek is known for, they're simply other stories with a Star Trek skin.
No it's not. The entire trailer shows pretty much every typical red flag you would get from a tedious shallow Bad Robot production and considering Trek has been suffering from these eye rolling shallow tedious tropes since 2009, it's something that a lot of the fandom are out on the look out for. Also on the writers my statement is completely legitimate. Writers do not control what ends up on screen nor are they independent. Most of the fandom at this point admits that Discovery S2 was basically a complete trainwreck in the writing department, even massive Disco fan channels that have defended Discovery through thick and thin like Trekspertese and Henry EC admitted in the end that the writing is what is letting the show down and the stories make no sense. Discovery had fantastic writers, but the problem clearly is too much interference from CBS, Kurtzman etc and too many cooks in the kitchen in terms of producers alone. Because Picard has good writers on board, doesn't mean the show itself has a high chance of being good especially if they have to adhere to a template or tone set by suits or there is interference in the post-writing/script process that means we end up with something different than what appears in the script, which is extremely common in both film and television.
Also further statements about how "dark" this show is going to be from those involved isn't helping reassure a lot of the fandom.
1. Wait until you see the show.
2. Don't speak for the fandom
So what did you learn today?
1. Wait until you see the show.
2. Don't speak for the fandom.
Based on the trailer, I'd like to see people's issues with Picard without referring back to how much they hate Discovery. Complaining about one just because of the other is like complaining about DS9 just because of Voyager, or vice versa.
