!
Not sure who you are referring to - are you confusing the human character with a beard with another Vulcan character.

!
We only saw the Ent E in a few movies whereas we saw the Ent D in 7 seasons of TNG. So it makes sense that we would associate TNG more with the D.
But I so hope we see Picard on a Galaxy class ship again. Fan service, sure but I don't care. It would be amazing to see again.
Well, we have not seen the Borg in years. This is an opportunity to revisit the Borg again and make them scary again. I hope the show does right by the Borg. I want to see the show really make the Borg a real threat again. Ideally, I hope the show drops the Borg Queen concept completely and returns the Borg to a single minded collective.
I'm not seeing it.The look and aesthetic of the "ship" locations and such too me just looked too much like it was out of Discovery. Dark, mostly gray, huge empty spaces and lens flares, got to have them lens flares! Then there's the Disovery Spock-looking Vulcan guy we saw.
The look of it all didn't click with me. It doesn't look one bit like Star Trek.
Well, it looks like "new" Star Trek, which I don't like the look of as it looks like every other piece of Sci-Fi out there. Dark, grey and LENS FLARES!!!!
Except the character isn't supposed to be ageless in their pursuits. He is striving to become more human. Wouldn't an aging program, even in appearance, support that goal?
Why? Why are they "due" a return? There is no obligation to revisit their story when we had two rather final blows to them.As for the Borg, I'm definitely 'yay, they're back!' camp. It's a bit like the Daleks in Doctor Who. Yes, they're probably overused a lot of the time but they're iconic. Plus, we haven't seen them on screen properly since that Enterprise episode. I think they're due a return.
Because he is built in human likeness. It makes sense for him to reflect his creator's attributes.See, I always thought it was tragic that Data was hellbend on becoming "more human" instead of becoming "more Data", that the lesson was not that Pinocchio doesn't have to become "a real boy" to be a valid person. I adored it when Picard told Data that he is a "culture of one", and really wish that sentiment would have stuck. Why is his enlightenment tied to the human experience, which he, by his very nature, will always be at least one step removed from and not an exploration of the android experience, in all its uniqueness?
He isn't de-aged. its just spiner with make-up. Besides being older and fatter, it looks pretty normal when he speaks.![]()
Surprisingly they did not get the contacts right. The werent that bright and big with such a small lens, but they looked like pretty normal pupils, just yellow. I mean, how difficult is it to look at a close up picture of Spiner as Data to see, how the contacts have to be!?
The de-aging actually went much to far. Even Spiner did not have such a smooth skin. They should concentrate on making it a little thinner and less on removing wrinkles.
Exactly. It's absurd to expect things to be static in Star Trek aesthetically.I can see how aesthetically it looks a bit like Discovery (although personally I never had an issue with Disco's visuals). I think it will be different to past series in terms of look and feel as TV has changed in twenty odd years. If we go from the end of Voyager then 24th Century Star Trek has had an even longer break than Doctor Who had when it came back in 2005. That felt very different to the last show that aired in 1989 and thus I imagine Picard will have a very different vibe to Endgame.
I would NOPE right out of the show then!I only hope the mystery woman doesn't turn out to be the child of Picard and the Borg Queen.![]()
It could still be B4, not Data. Data isn’t coming back. That's been my thought since seeing the shot. That kurtzman went the comic countdown version with B-4 becoming Data.

I was talking about low decksThere are like dozens of Romulans in this trailer.
Also an Andorian.

OhhI was talking about low decks
I'm not seeing it.
and it looks like a very early CGI job to boot as is often the case with trailers.Theyve definitely painted out wrinkles on his face. The crow's feet and bags under his eyes are gone, and much of his skin texture is missing in that area too.
anybody got a screen cap of this? i haven’t spotted him...Hugh looks like he's been kept in storage or something and the Cube seems to have been changed into a prison so I wonder how present they are in the universe.

I don't think it's CG. Just thick makeup.and it looks like a very early CGI job to boot as is often the case with trailers.
