New Picard SDCC Trailer

just zoom in on this. I really don't think so

I've done some Digital touch ups, and there is indeed some work done here, but it's not on the elaborate level that people would tend to think. there is a misconception that De-aging VFX is just a thing in Marvel films or you must have a Marvel budget, that's far from the truth, Digital touch-ups are far more common than people think. I tried to point out a few months ago that Spiner does not need to elaborate 100-200 Million dollar level VFX that gets all the big attention, he's aged very well, stayed in shape, with makeup, decent lighting, and digital touchups, it would not be such a massive feet to make him look at least like he did in the TNG films, that's not saying its a walk in the park, it's just more than doable on a show of this scale. Spiner's eyebags have absolutely been softened, the lower parts of his face has definitely had some lifting and tightening. but this really is Post Production Touchups, not a total CGI overhaul

Yeah, I can't see how anyone would believe there's no digital work at play there. Slap the make-up on him, pull and tighten some areas, give him a wig...and then do digital tweaks on top of all that. And hopefully a lot more of them before final release. ;)

That's for sure. It turns up in sit-coms, that's how ubiquitous it is. :)

I think the young lady might be Data. We don't fully know what is going on with Data but he seems to be important beyond being a cameo. Jason

So, the Admiral at Starfleet Command Picard's talking to, just a new character? I've seen some claims that it's supposed to be Nechayev, but that doesn't look like her to me, even taking into account the passage of 25 years.
That who I think it is.

i hope none of these characters are none of these characters.

the girl should be something new or we really are in fan wank overload. and the admiral just needs to be any old admiral. the world is big, picard needs to be interacting with nameless starfleet characters to signal just how out of touch he is, how far gone the TNG glory days are. it’s way less interesting if he’s like “oh hey alynna”.

The girl I suspect is probably Borg. That could explain her connection to Picard and how she's the "destroyer and end of all things."

Good cinematography. The DP for Picard is great.

I wasn't expecting to see Seven of Nine. Actually that's not quite true. I figured we'd see someone from VOY, but I thought it would be Janeway as one of Picard's contacts in Starfleet Command. If they're pursuing a Borg storyline, then Seven of Nine works too.

I think the girl is Borg. I don't think she's Lal. But, if she is Lal, then I think she'd be more apt to figure out how to fully upgrade B-4 into Data 2.0 if no one else can figure out how to do it.

I agree that Endgame was pretty final, but then (to use a Doctor Who analogy again as that's the only show that's really comparable to Trek in how long it's been around), the Daleks and the Cybermen have had countless 'final defeats' only to come back as they're fan favourites
All the more reason to not do it. This is taking fan service to a whole new level that is unnecessary in this show.

I just saw the trailer. Top Gun Maverick made me feel some things and got my teary eyed. This....did not. But I'm reserving judgment until the show comes out. I think it started to lose me when the new crew reminded me of "Gambit", an episode of TNG I've never liked.

And yeah, Spiner probably has those white dots on his face for the CGI. I love that they can do that now...and it's getting better every year. And it can't be that expensive, as noted a few replies up. It's happening on Indian films now too....which most assuredly do NOT have Marvel budgets
