It was announced last year, but it's been really quiet since then. Well, not anymore, as there's footage from the movie (apparently shown at NYCC), a four minute clip, which surfaced on YouTube and looks very, very promising:

The imagery is reminiscent of Gamera 3, which is good, but way more cartoony, which I don't care for. I'll check out the full movie when it is available though.

Yes. In the original series, they actually had a flamethrower built into the suit.
