new district 9 trailer out

Hm, that's a different trailer from the one I saw in front of Angels & Demons last week. Very interesting.

I think it's good marketing; the first trailer was very slow, dark, and mysterious, while this one is more straightforward. This is what I'd expect when you move from "teaser" to your main trailer.

Agreed. When I saw the first trailer, I had no idea what it was for District 9 so I was nicely surprised by the twist. And now with this one, they throw us a bone.

very cool, I like
the subplot with the reporter who infects himself with God knows what.
this seems like an interesting year for sci-fi films- this, Moon, Surrogates. Isnt Avatar supposed to be out this year too?

A little more about the movie is revealed in this one, and it still has my interest. I'll probably be there come August.

looks interesting but looks like it lost the feel of the original "alive in joburg"

I was surprised to read this, it seems very faithful to me. I had half-expected them to move the setting to America.

what i meant was that the trailer seems to represent the movie as more of an action flick, which joburg was not. then again, that could be the result of a well-edited trailer. it also seems like the movie isn't entirely in documentary form.

I am glad that they're keeping the south africa setting and using who appear to be south african actors, though. if it does end up being more of an action movie than i had hoped for rather than a more subtle social commentary, at least it looks like it'll be authentically shot and visually interesting.
