EDIT: I couldn't make out any more names, but I did spot that the UFP cogwheel flag is there in the auditorium, which I thought had been designed for Into Darkness.

BTW, see that blonde cadet on the right? She's wearing the hairstyle they gave Rand in the IDW comics. So as far as I'm concerned, that's her.

During the Kobayashi Maru test in ST'09, a giant Starfleet delta detaches from underneath the lead Klingon Warbird when it blows up.
Why would there be such a thing as a "MACO motorcycle"? It doesn't have a particular military application. I mean, it sure wasn't stealth or anything.
Small, efficient. mobile. Sure beats walking on an away mission. Motorcycles are still common in the military now. One of the latest is a special ops cycle with a nearly silent electric motor.

While looking for a good pic of the big delta, I came across THIS. It's a graphic shown briefly during the Kobayashi Maru test, which not only is from the Enterprise bridge set and not the Kelvin's but is from the later space jump sequence. They literally laid the new graphics over the old - you can make out "LT, J.KIRK" and "CR O. OLSEN" and even "(SU)LU" poking out from under one of the "WARBIRD" icons.
I don't believe it's visible in the movie, but the Kelvin's dedication plaque has the registry misspelled as 0154 instead of 0514.
In which version? Did they correct it for the 4K? You should tell them so they can fix it next time.
It's the 4K screengrabs where I saw it, haven't checked the SD version to see if it's an old or new bug. It's only on-screen for a second, I don't think it needs fixing it's just a curio,
Did anyone catch the insane layout of the brig deck? This graphic is seen in the background for most of the brig scenes in Into Darkness. It's literally endless copypastes of the brig connected by random short bits of corridor. Definitely confusing to anyone trying to escape!

Kirk's dress uniform insignia in Into Darkness was identical to the badge William Shatner wore at the start of The Motion Picture, and slightly different to what everyone else wore.
Does that carry on into Beyond?
It's only on the dress uniform he wears at Starfleet HQ in Into Darkness.
How did I miss this point. It's part of contemporary military strategies, and Star Trek has always had a shortage of scout vehicles. It's kind of silly to either walk or need a shuttle everywhere on an away mission
Especially if you split up. Wonder if more red shirts would have lived had they had a motorbike to escape on instead of running.
I don't think the art department were given a stardate for Star Trek Beyond when they were doing their thing...
