Never noticed details in the Kelvinverse films

Guys, don't sweat the details
Orchi n writting team sure skirted them when it moved the story/plot LOL
:techman:
"Orchi" and his team didn't write this movie. A MACO emblem on a motorcycle is literally "sweating the details".
Maybe they put on stunt shows for the crew. USO and such...
Come, you actually mentioned in an earlier post that the military uses motorcycles. No need to invent an USO stunt show to rationalize their existence.

Do you have a picture?

School Bus Into Darkness

(Is it forcefield tech or just cool materials tech?)

(Also, is that a schoolbus or a streetcar? It sits next to what looks like a sidewalk, but could also be a pair of rails. And there's something on the roof that might be a pantograph, which the old orange cabs would have even if the cable cars are perhaps more familiar to the audience.)

Timo Saloniemi

This may be a strange detail but Kirk's hair was longer in Beyond and almost identical to Kirk's hair in season three of TOS.

Never liked Kirks hair in season 3. Season 1 n 2 looked good, but I have shorter hair so.......

Except parted on wrong side in STID

His hair in beyond was too long imo. Needed a trim on sides n Shatner parted his more towards middle of head due to oncoming baldness lol

I'm sure there still is a USO, or a descendant of same, in Trek's time. Indeed, Starfleet personnel are spread so far and wide across the quadrant that it would be a necessity. You have to provide for those people who are so far from home.

I'm not saying there isn't a USO, just that the motorcycle isn't some leftover from a USO stunt show.

BTW, the only mention of it is in DS9, where Vic Fontaine (by virtue of his 60s provenance) offered to put on some USO shows for the fighters on AR-558.

A few years early. Could be he just didn't bother getting a trim, just combed it for neatness' sake when meeting with someone official, which fits right in with his "episodic, what are we doing out here" vibe.

Nah, they evolved past that need. That's what the holodeck/rec room is for.
