Netflix greenlights new "Lost in Space"

Every promo I've seen says "All episodes April 13". Does that mean they're going to drop the entire season at once?

First off John Robinson is a bit of a dick. The eponymous father of the Robinson family in this version of the show is a bit of a dick.

But so far this is enjoyable. I'm starting episode 4 as it was live 430pm my time so started a little after that. The production seems way above average and I feel like I am watching a movie every episode. I'm going to binge the whole thing tonight and watch again later. So far I am enjoying this but like anything there are a few things I didn't like here and there but nothing that has put me off.

The contentious topic of Parker Posey. as Doctor Smith she's great.

She's great. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about her but she's played her role well so far. By now I know her secret so that's cool, that doesn't put me off. I like her. I am wondering how long the family takes to figure out her secret.

The robot design now that is great, it's modular and can reconfigure itself. Minor spoiler ahead.

The robot is alien. Pretty much revealed when we first see the crashed ship and how he and Will meet, but was it the same robot that attacked everyone onboard the Ressolute? I think it might turn out that way because the trailers and promos kind of hint at this by describing robot as "reformed killer."

OK back to binge watching.

That's discouraging. As I've mentioned, that's one thing I disliked about the movie. For me, growing up watching the original series, Guy Williams's John Robinson was sort of the ideal father figure-slash-action hero. The fact that he was a great dad and a great protector meant a lot to me, so turning him into a jerk does not endear me at all.

He's not really a jerk. he is just a little distant to his kids, and I think over the course of the series this will definitely change. I am hoping for a change in everyone in season 2. He is a bit dickish now but I am thinking that will most definitely improve and change.

The biggest surprise for me was Parker Posey. She can do bad guys really well and here she did not disappoint. She and the robot are my favourites here. I think there's a hell of a lot more going on with either of them then the rest of the characters, and even from the flashbacks we got of her character I don't think that was everything.

Minor spoiler: John Robinson gets good.

Oh, and I want to shove Dr Smith off a cliff.

It's a gripping series, but still family-oriented, which is a change from Altered Carbon (which I liked) and The Expanse (which I didn't, but will try again).

I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode! (Mild spoilers follow)

John isn't a dick, he used to be a loving family man but lost that in the war. Now he's withdrawn from his family and relates to his children like they're soldiers.

My presumption is that his arc will be finding a way back to the John Robinson we saw in the first flashback.

I watched the first episode first thing after I got up this morning, and I really enjoyed it. The characters all seem interesting, and actors all gave good perforamances across the board.
I really like the design for the robot.
There were some interesting twists thrown in here in one of the flashbacks part way through and then a couple of big ones in the very last scene. I'm especially curious to see what kind of impact the ones from the last scene will have.

I thought the first ep was pretty good and the second better. I was completely sold after the beginning of the third. I hope the remaining seven keep it up. The show manages to preserve the spirit of the original while modernizing it for today. (Way more successfully than Discovery, IMO.)

The kid playing Will is a good kid actor.

Saw the first two. pretty good so far. Having a Geth as the robot is a odd choice but I'll stick with it.
The wife seems rather annoying though. No one bosses Captain Flint like that and lives.

Aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww I like her.

I like Parker Posey and she's doing her role very well. If you dislike her that much she's done her job.

I thought her real name was June Harris. Dr Smith only because she stole the identity of the real one played by Bill Mumy (original Will Robinson)

There are a ton of easter eggs in the show.

The chicken is named Debbie. Debbie used to be the Bloop
Smith's real name , which is also a huge spoiler and an easter egg.
Goddard was the name on someone's helmet.
"we're going to need a bigger whiteboard" nod to Jaws.

That's all I can think of for now.
