NBA 2010-2011

Okay, that makes more sense as to the format and game one. I understand a little better.

I believe that OKC will, in all likelihood (but by no means assured) win tomorrow. They've done a remarkable job of adjustment to each setback in this series. I was surprised to see Durant so....non aggressive. That early second foul call on him (which was bullshit) didn't help, but you have to overcome things like that. I'm not expecting them to win a series with the Mavs, but you wouldn't know that talking to some folks around here. They're not quite to that level yet. Still, 2 years ago this team only won 23 games. Its progress is nothing short of phenomenal.

People can't seem to rid themselves of the idea of the Mavs being chokers. They don't readily accept that the monkey is gone. Crap, they have to beat Miami. Miami sucks by definition and LeBron will become more than insufferable. Superstar players deciding that they wish to congregate on one particular team being validated with an NBA title will only hurt the NBA as a whole. As a smaller market team's fan, the idea of Miami winning is worrisome and a threat to my team's continued success. Sure Durant is signed (and Perkins and most of the others) but what 3 superstars are going to choose to come to Oklahoma City, or Cleveland, or Memphis? Miami must lose.

Either way, I'm ready for Game 7 this afternoon. I got no dog in the fight, so I just want to see some exciting ball.

sigh. And I have to go meet with clients to book several potential convention groups in my hotel this summer. I doubt my boss would look favorable on me missing that for an NBA game. C'est la vie.

what do you guy think about the kings staying in sacramento!? even year the mayor said he going to get a new place to play! but it never happen! but the team keep gaveing him 1 more short! I say if you going to more just do it! or stop talking about it!:)

Welp, one more quarter for the Grizz to come back into it. I probably won't keep watching the playoffs if they lose.

Trust me, the monkey is so not gone. You might be referring primarily to the Mavs loss a few seasons ago as the No. 1 seed to the No. 8 seed Golden State Warriors in the first round of the playoffs. Well keep in mind that the Mavs had the reputation as underachievers long before those playoffs.

The Mavs have a lot to prove and the tale won't be told even after they beat your team in the conference finals which they will do. No, the Mavs will need to beat Miami in the Finals or if they lose, lose in game 7 in order to officially shake off that monkey.

But don't get me wrong, a Thunder win in the conference finals would be fine by me because I cannot stand that mealy mouthed idiot, Marc Cuban. Few things would please me more than watching Cuban have to come up with excuses yet again as to why his "dynamic" basketball decisions have resulted in failure. But, unfortunately it's not going to happen in the conference finals.

However, good luck.

The playoffs are still going on?

I thought it was over when the Lakers lost 0-4 to the Mavericks...

:-)

(Sorry Laker fans, but that was a beautiful feeling Game 4)...

I booked the convention group from Las Vegas. :techman: I lost the one from West Memphis. They have decided to book elsewhere. Fortunately, one of those cheese whizzes from out west suggested getting an appetizer in our bar. The potential client has to suggest something like watching the game. Protocol. They suggested. :D The Memphis group were all too happy to oblige, anticipating the best. Sorry, dudes.

But the Grizz were impressive. They'll be back. Of that I have no doubt. Durant has a little life after all. I still think people are underestimating the Mavs.

A 21 point win for da Bulls.

They kept the "heat" on at the end too, increasing the lead in the last 5 minutes or so.

It's strange to me that there's a game 7 & a game 1 on the same day.

What kind of scheduling is that?

Game 1 of the ECF was supposed to be today, but Oprah rented it out as part of her farewell tour, hence the Bulls played last night.

I busted out the black socks in support of them. But then had a weird dream about having a conversation with my wife analyzing their loss in Game 2 after winning convincingly in Game 1. Hopefully not a portent of things to come.

How often does a guy score 40+ points .... and get overshadowed the way Durant is by Nowitski tonight?
