In the New York Times article it mentions that Neeson was seen with her in an ambulance in Montreal. I don't know, and it seems likely, if she was unconscious at the time; I dearly hope they got a few last moments together.

I'm not too familiar with her body of work, but very sad (big Neeson fan); really sad for the kids (I know my mother had cancer when I was really young, can't fathom what life would've been like without her).

I was thinking the same thing.

It's a pretty sobering lesson. I think if I ever take a nasty bump to the head I'm going to get it checked out right away. Same goes for anyone I know.

Well, this is what I was afraid of, but I was holding out hope. Just terrible. My condolences to her family and her friends.

I wonder if it was the fall that caused the injury or the injury that caused the fall...

I was wondering the same thing. I have a friend who nearly died (and is now severely brain damaged) because of an undetected aneurysm.

That thought crossed my mind too last night.

According to the AP, cause of death was epidural hematoma (bleeding between the skull and the brain's covering), caused by the fall. I kind of figured that. I'm not sure immediate treatment could have saved her.

I just watched this a few months ago, for the first time... and that never occurred to me until just when I read your post.

I won't be able to watch the remake of "The Parent Trap" in quite the same way again either.

That was my first thought when I heard the news. She had such a delightful blend of class and vulnerability in that performance.
