Name That STAR TREK Episode...

Yes, we must hark back to an old war and an ancient war hero.

"Whom Gods Destroy"

Kirk mentioned a dream that made Spock and Him brothers. And Spock does in fact agree with that.

And the poor girl blown to bits ... really?

Clue #1 A strong, solid performance from some of the cast that would make Plato proud.

Hint: It is not the episode about the step-jerks

It's not The Mudd Troupe.

Clue #2 The rest of the cast had an easy job in this episode. Several had a body double do their work. Those doubles gave perfect solid performances in their place and caused the director no trouble as they maintained platonic relationships. Call it serendipity, but the director was also happy to have no set damage from floods, landslides, wind or fire.

"platonic relationships"??? How is that any of the director's business what adults do in their privacy??? I don't get it.

Or, maybe you are starting to get it because you are right, the director would not be concerned with what adults do in their privacy.

Not "Mark of Gideon" though.

Let's try another angle having less to do with shapes, mathematics and crude physics models.

Clue #3 Scotty's plan was good and it almost worked, but he enjoys his indulgence so much that perhaps he forgot his goal.

This is "By any other name".
Styrofoam Cuboctahedron stand ins, Scotty drinks too much to incapacitate the Kelvin.

Yes, you got it UssGlenn. Your turn.

Clue 2 was trying to refer to "Platonic Solids", also called "Perfect Solids". Plato assigned the elements (now better called states of matter) water, earth, air and fire to four of the perfect solids and ether/cosmos/heavens to the fifth. The shapes of the reduced crew members resembled these shapes.
