Name That STAR TREK Episode...

Those suits are among my earliest memories. Unfortunately, on a black and white TV back then. If wonderment and vivid memories are the mark of a good show, they made the right choice to use the suits. The belts work better in the Animated Series, and I have a good memory of those as well.

Clue #1 Kirk would have liked quick access to either the belt or the suit during this episode.

Nope, not "The Doomsday Machine".

Clue #2 A machine was involved in Kirk's need, but it spelled doom only for him. Well, actually that is not quite correct because he was just first in line. As usually, everything turned out fine in the end.

Discofan, I'm sorry to say you are the giver of a wrong answer. But, I see how you arrived at that answer, because I am the giver of a confusing clue. You thought I was saying Kirk was not doomed and others in line were doomed. But, I meant Kirk was truly doomed to die, but others would follow the same fate.

Clue # 3 The mispronunciation makes sense if you look and see how a similar word is spelled.

Space Seed?
1. Kirk was put into the Environmental Chamber and it evacuated of air. He could have used a space suit or belt for air.
2. The machine of doom was the Environmental Chamber.
3. ?

You got it Henoch. Good work! Your turn.

Clue #3 refers to Kirk mispronouncing McGivers name as McGivvers. In the comments to Discofan, I mentioned the word "giver" two times as a hint. It's not surprising Kirk mispronounces it because the word giver is pronounced as "givver" with a short i instead of a long i as in McGiiiiiivers' name.

I always laugh at this way they make it clear that Kirk has no love interest in McGivers. That way it's no harm to his image when she falls for Khan.

1st Clue: By the end of the episode, we see the villain confused and asking for help. Then it gets even worse for the villain.

2nd Clue: At the beginning of the episode, the villain doesn't want anything to do with Kirk.

"That Which Survives". Losira is matched to Kirk only at the end. Early in the episode, she is matched to others and she asks for help by asking the person to let her touch them, and giving information about the ship. She is confused in many ways, mostly unsure of why she is there and knowing only that she is sent to touch.

It's not even clear if we can call her a villain... That episode is itself very confusing.

No, not Losira. Actually, Losira is long gone, so, the villain there would be the A.I. protecting the outpost.

3rd Clue: Once Kirk plants himself into the villain's world, the villain quickly gets the upper hand, for a short time.

"I, Mudd"?

1. Once the androids take over, Mudd is going to be left behind too, so he wants Kirk to help him. Then it gets worse when Kirk leaves him behind with 500 copies of his nagging wife.
2. Mudd wants to leave Kirk and crew behind.
3. At first Mudd the First is the big boss of everything, at least until he is ousted by his subjects.

There's mud in your eye. No, not I, Mudd.

4th Clue: The villain sees the advantage slip away due to Kirk's manipulations.

No dual mirrors. Summary with new clue:

1st Clue: By the end of the episode, we see the villain confused and asking for help. Then it gets even worse for the villain.
2nd Clue: At the beginning of the episode, the villain doesn't want anything to do with Kirk.
3rd Clue: Once Kirk plants himself into the villain's world, the villain quickly gets the upper hand, for a short time.
4th Clue: The villain sees the advantage slip away due to Kirk's manipulations.
5th Clue: But wait, the
silver-tongued villain gains an advantage, again.

I'll try "The Squire of Gothos" because that is a single mirror episode.

1. Not sure he asks for help, but he gets confused, and then it gets worse when his parents get home.

2. Kirk is stolen and then frozen while General T. goes to work on the others.

3. Kirk is kind of planted at first and Trelane has the upper hand for a while.

4. Kirk shoots the mirror and escapes

5. He's back with a vengeance and he never stops talking.
