Until they realize that fan service is all the rage.
I won't be too shocked if, Nexus-like it traps the souls of everyone it kills - giving more to Book seeing his nephew on his ship while investigating the anomaly.
Nagilum is probably busy dealing with the extra-dimensional synths anyways.
I for one don't need a follow up to Nagilum, V'Ger or environmentally bad warping.
But... They did... That's what Voyager's nacelle's were for...I think it’s a sequel to TNG’s “Force of Nature”. And that the Federation did absolutely bupkis in addressing the tears in subspace cause by warp drive over the previous 800 years. And now these tears are threatening all life in the galaxy through anomalies.
And Starfleet used more than just the Intrepid class. Excelsior, Reliant, Galaxy, Nebula, Oberth, and Defiant class were also in service in time and older classes than Intrepid class vessels like Voyager.But... They did... That's what Voyager's nacelle's were for...
With tasteful wallpaper, everyone having evolved a second backup nose in case their primary nose is runny (think about it, and you will realize the convenience. Hell I want one, now), lots of Brutalist concrete public structure, and angry sentient apes, and possibly even angrier blue sentient Andorrian apes, and much less angry Vulcan apes. Food in the form of colored dodecahedrons, everyone wearing cellophane leggings with panties on the outside regardless of gender or lackthereof, human centipedeism as a life choice, giant c-band satellite dishes everywhere for no discernible reason, and a hammerspace hole you can take with you to put your stuff in or get it out.How should the 32nd Century appear?![]()
Even if they were going to do a callback to Voyager, I can think of far more memorable episodes than Twisted.Given how popular VOYAGER is with audiences in the current era, I wouldn't be surprised if the anomaly is related to the space twisting lifeform from "TWISTED". It was sentient. Maybe this one is it's sibling, or even child or grandchild of the one from "TWISTED".
