mrcoaster's Homely Online Band

My schedule is really bizarre right now, so that's the big problem at the moment. That and I'm waiting for McCartney and Springsteen to call me back with their ideas. ;)

Yeah Shatna is right, mrcoaster. Remember when Paul stole that song from you? Sure, he blamed it on Linda's untimely passing, but really... what was he thinking by changing the lyrics YOU wrote? If you ask me, your original lyrics were masterful!

Lyrics composed by mrcoaster:
When you were young and your heart was an open book,
You used to say live and let drive.

(You know you did
you know you did
you know you dii-iid!)

But if this ever changing world in which we travel
Makes you give it a cry--
Say Live and let FLY!

LIVE AND LET FLY!

What does it matter to ya?
When ya gotta job to do,
You gotta do it well
And wish your bitchy passengers well....

I mean, those are near-perfect! What was Paul thinking????

And now you wanna wait for him to come back to you? Come on man. Shack up with Shatna. He has the three things to be ridiculously succesful: Talent, and beaver-hair. (Beaver-hair counts twice).

Whats not to love?

I suppose you don't have any openings for a conductor?

Do you have a huge overblown ego bigger than Texas?
Do you throw huge screaming temper tantrum fits when the least itty bitty little thing irritates you?
Do you vastly enjoy sadistically heaping extremely rude insults on hapless musicians who fall short of your outrageously unreasonable expectations?

If yes, you're perfect for the job.

Robert

Q: What's the difference between a bull and a symphony orchestra?

A: Well, the bull has the horns in the front and the a**hole in the back.

(Yes, that was gratuitous, and intended for humor value only. No offense.)

Ohhhh, I'm sorry - I must have been thinking about how we fired the last manager for incompetence at the time. I forgot about that. How are those tour shirts coming, by the way? ;)

The really pertinent question is, "where's the damn song?" And a good question it is indeed. mrcoaster and I jammed at a BBS meetup party the other night and discussed it briefly, but we didn't have time to work on anything substantial. coaster's schedule is pretty complicated and busy, especially at this time of year, so our geographical proximity helps only a little. We will sit down nose-to-nose and work something out as soon as is humanly possible.

In the meantime, I have been messing with riffs and melodies and have envisioned something simple but fun, a pure pop song with a Beatle-y feel but a modern sound. If we can apply jazz and classical elements, that will be great, but I feel that clean and simple should be the order of the day. This allows for musicians of all levels to participate and makes the experience fun for everyone, hopefully.

Thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

^^ My only question is will your records be available on vinyl?

And what label are you signing too?

Okay, that was two questions, but... :D

Nope. They are "records" of a work, short for "recording". Similarly, "album" refers to a collection of work. Vinyl covers only LPs, EPs, 45s, 78 and 33 1/3 RPMs.
