mrcoaster's Homely Online Band

They're only called "record" players because for decades that was the only device you could play recorded music on. You're right in an everyday usage kind of way, but not in a technical sense.

This discussion would make a cool thread all its own, but maybe we better stick with the online band discussion before the sucker spins off too far. ;)

Yeah, OK.

I'll jyst agree with you for the sake of keeping the peace.

Shatna was right everyone!

I'm gonna post a few tracks at your Kellyzcorner thing later, so get your earmuffs ready!

Have no doubt that our recordings will be available on collectible vinyl. The Japanese release will include a pair of bonus tracks, I'm filming me not working on the song as part of the DVD featurette - "The Making of The Song". doubleoh is working on tour dates, but we'll have to have an actual song to promote or we'll be Spinal Tap - TrekBBS edition. I'm working on more marketing plans, but I can't release all the details at this time.

So when should I expect my shipment of groupies? Cause I cleared away a corner and vacumed and everything.

Can he get a date for me, too? X-mas shopping has me all stressed out and in need of a woman.

Check out Large In Time; something for everybody! :)

Hey everyone.

Just checked out Shatna's kellyzkorner thread and listened to some tracks. Good work everyone, Shatna some good stuff there, lovin' it.

005 & RJDiogenes what soothing voices you have, you should do voiceovers. Of course, i had no idea what it any of it meant, i don't speak American. ;)

Here's another link to the song I posted there.

Pingfah & friends rock song Misunderstood.

Feel free to download. Its a 7MB mp3.

All set and posted here.

I pulled the last round of coffeehouse performances, so we have plenty of openings for more. I want coaster to record something, dammit!

Thanks for the compliment. I'm downloading your song now.

Nope. They are "records" of a work, short for "recording". Similarly, "album" refers to a collection of work. Vinyl covers only LPs, EPs, 45s, 78 and 33 1/3 RPMs.
Okay, I'll be the pissant, here: some LPs, many 45s (especially the 10" variety) and all or nearly all 78s were not on vinyl. ;)

I've got mixing software if you're still after that.

And if you want a rambling ten minute Frank Zappa style solo... well maybe not.

Thank you very much. That's actually occurred to me (I figure it beats working ), but I would have no idea where to begin (but I will have a CD available... uh... any day now).

In my case, you need to speak Bostonian. ;)

Very nice! And surprisingly loud at 5:30 in the morning. Do I hear a Talking Heads influence?

^^ Thanks RJ.

There's influences from all over the place in there, the bassist was a massive Talking Heads fan actually.

I am from the Brian May school of guitar, although 90's rock (like STP, Pearl Jam) has had a big influence on me also.

I am still after that. Also, we need an engineer. Wanna volunteer?

We can always speed up the solo so it fits four minutes... :D

Yeah, that's what I meant - just phrased it badly. :D Although I should add I'm not an engineer by any means, unless twiddling the knobs on a Portastudio years ago counts.

If anyone better qualified wants to step forward, please do so without fear of ruffling my feathers. ;)

Pffft on "better qualified". I was gonna stumble through doing it myself till you popped up. You the man, done deal.

Has this thread died?, haven't heard anything lately, *puts ear close to speaker,- hmmmmm,- shakes head- nothing there*

:) :)
