Most irritating wives...

Truly, there's no such thing as an irritating wife. Only irritating gfs. With the exception of Mudd, everyone else who was married seemed content.

Maybe she realized that she was pretty hot, and that she had married...Eddington. I could see how that could make anyone bitter.

I think I'm the only one who likes Lwaxana, she seems fun. O'Brian for sure.
You're not! I love Lwaxana. She's always been a favorite of mine, given the emotions she gives me. Entertainment, pity, etc. Great character.

People have mentioned Lwaxana Troi, but at least she's funny sometimes!

Agreed. I like Lwaxana, I always have.

She may be annoying at times, but at least she is *sincere*. She's friendly and outgoing. Maybe too much, but it's better than not being enough of those things, which I believe is Keiko's problem.

The problem with Keiko is that Miles is just so damned likeable most of the time. It is hard to sympathize with someone being mad at him, especially for some of the small things that seemed to set Keiko off.

Exactly--her responses often seemed out of proportion. Had she actually been complaining about something legit like the threat to the kids' lives on DS9, or Miles' career taking precedence over her own, I could've seen it. But half the time she seemed like she was on the outs with him over something stupid. I could understand why Miles wanted to spend all that time with Julian!!!

(I did think it was a pretty neat trick, though, in the Worlds of DS9 series, making Miles have to follow HER to a place where he absolutely didn't want to go... ;) )

Stella Mudd wins, hands down! Surprised no one has mentioned Martok's wife, Sirella. She was a pain! -- RR

Though we never met her, Prinadora - Rom's first wife - seemed to screw him over pretty thoroughly. Just offering another option.

That said, I am no fan of Keiko O'Brien, and she was my first thought. I never liked her and she was always giving poor Miles grief.

It's hard for anyone to top Stella Mudd in the annoying department, but since she was only portrayed in an android characiture based on Harry Mudd's no doubt biased memories of her, I don't want to count her.

LOL True!! But I'm sure she knew that before she married him!!

Keiko, on the other hand, seemed like Miles determined to make her marriage work, not wanting to separate from Miles at all. That seemed to be the biggest problem, she'd rather be with him and unhappy than be fulfilled career-wise with out him, which to me means their relationship meant more to them than anything- which is great! It would just grate on her nerves, especially since there are kids involved.

I mean she married a guy that hated entire species, which she was opposed to- she saw the good in Cardassians long before Miles. And the place Miles was, wasn't even safe- Keiko got taken over by an alien entity, Rumplestilskin tried to kidnap their daughter, she almost lost both her kids, plus the Dominion, plus almost being blown up, plus fanatical Bajorans... those to me are big things that stressed her out so much that coping with the little things was so much harder. IMO...

Richard Kiley's wife in that episode of DS9.

Although it was probably a good thing, since the producers of DS9 most likely realised that having Sisko bang an "alien-babe-of-the-week" just wasn't going to work, and he needed a steady girlfriend.

Which led to the cool character of Captain Kasidy Yates
