I am removing "INNOCENCE" as it is the only time we see a species that literally lives their life in reverse.

I think we're about halfway through the list now.

Resolutions is gone. It was a clear "shake things up" episode, with the captain and first officer removed from their normal environment and made to pursue a different lifestyle. It also had the other characters going on about how different life was as a result.

I am removing Alice as the only episode about a starship emulating a woman (we never saw it as a man, which would be the case if its victim was gay or a straight woman). There are plenty of other reasons why this episode is unique but this will suffice.

I am taking out "TWISTED". A spatial phenomenon that not contorts everything but it is also a lifeform? The episode itself was not executed well, but the concept of it was VERY unique.

Remove Human Error as most of it takes place on the holodeck with a facsimile of the real characters, purposely deviating from the normal dynamics of the Voyager crew.

We've served our "Thirty Days". An episode that actually takes pains to cover a relatively long period of time isn't generic.

BTW, was "Worst Case Scenario" miswritten from the beginning? How droll.

Whoops!

Let's drop it now, as this was another holodeck episode which was essentially in-house fanfiction.

Time for a new year check-up: We've eliminated more than half of the episodes, including all but two of the two-parters. Series Three is the most intact (61.5%), followed by One (56.3%), then Five (53.8%), then Four (50%), then Two (38.5%), then Six and Seven (26.9% each). This does support the view that VOY became more introspective and self-referential during its later years, though I would have expected the second series (from which most of the parodies and callbacks emanate) to hold up better than the third.

I am eliminating "Heroes & Demons", It's a holodeck gone wrong story coupled with a "The Doctor saves the day" story.

There aren't many of them.

^Also IIRC that was the first one of its kind. And The Doctor's first romance.

Since I'm posting anyhow... I guess I'll hit the brakes on "Drive". While "space race" episodes in sci-fi aren't necessarily uncommmon (I can readily recall one in SG-1), I don't believe Trek had done one before or since...

I am eliminating Latent Image, as an episode where Janeway questions the validity of her decision (there aren't many of these), also the question of whether the doctor must be treated like a person or a machine (only a few episodes treat that question).

Counterpoint goes. It purposely subverted the way that conflicts with aliens were usually presented, by relying mostly on wit rather than firepower. It also used classical music instead of the standard backing track.

I am removing "One Small Step" as an episode mostly about a hero of Voyager's past (our future) that was before Warp drive and the first encounter with aliens. Plus Chak uses his authority to make a really bad decision that almost got everyone killed (in the shuttle). I don't think there's another episode where he does that without being under the influence of something.

I’m removing Sacred Ground because it’s about a Starfleet Captain who is beginning to doubt that Science can answer all questions in the universe. Normally it’s the other way around.

Faces falls out. Something of the inverse of Tuvix, it has Torres being split into two, a character deconstruction in a rather literal way.
