Most annoying Christmas songs

The little drummer boy - doesn't matter who sings it, it just makes time seem to stand still for the duration.

Last christmas -same thing.

Feed the world (do they know it's christmas?) -I seriously HATE :brickwall: that kind of song.

Slade's Merry Christmas :scream::scream:

Shakin' Stevens' merry christmas everyone.

Beach Boys' Little st. nick.

Bruce Springsteen's Santa claus is back in town

And a couple of dozen Danish songs you people should consider yourself lucky never to have heard!

I do however still like Elvis' Blue christmas.

Eeyaw! Eeyaw! Eeyaw!

It's Dominic the Donkey!

Eeyaw! Eeyaw! Eeyaw!

It's Dominic the Italian Christmas Donkey!

Feliz Navidad.

I know it's a favourite but like The Return of the King it just goes on for ages even when you think it's finished.

The Paul McCartney song is really bad as well, but I like the John Lennon one.

I don't think I mind any of the traditional ones, but almost all of the newer pop ones are annoying.

But every time I hear a commercial change the lyrics to a Christmas song to shill whatever they're selling, I want to strangle orphans and kittens. "Carol of the Bells" is one of the worst culprits in this regard. It's a nice little tune, but advertisers can't seem to get enough of pillaging it.

I remember when I first heard "Wonderful Christmastime" by McCartney I loved it! Being a huge Beatles fan made even more likeable.

Now after hearing the damn thing 34,256 times...I want to smash any speaker broadcasting it to teeny tiny pieces.

- Grandma got run over by a reindeer. It's retarded.

- The barking dogs who sing Jingle Bells.
Yes to both of these, ESPECIALLY the dogs.

Pop "stars" and country "musicians" doing original christmas songs.
It takes 100 of these to produce one classic. I'm not sure it's been done well since The Carpenters' "Merry Christmas, Darling."

Feliz Navidad.
Just what I wanted stuck in my head for the evening. I guess, having clicked on the thread, I have no legitimate grounds for complaint.

I'll add "Merry Christmas, War Is Over" to the list. Blech.

"Theme tune from 'Red Dwarf'" - Mariah Carey

(well, it sure sounds like it ;))

As for Paul McCartney, you haven't lived till you've heard it mashed up with "Jenny From The Block"... :guffaw:

I know this is going to sound... "me" but I'm going to go with all of them. But only because the Musak station at work has been on the Christmas/Holiday one since a week before Thanksgiving so I'm a little burnt out on them.

My least favorite, though, would have to be some bizzare version of "White Christmas" I hear, oh, about three times a day. It's the classic version but for some dumb reason has goofy synthesizery/Dream Weavery music dubbed over it.

And I noticed this year that I've not heard the more "religous leaning" songs (including my favorite -The Little Drummer Boy") this year so I kind of wonder if they didn't remove them to... I dunno do something dumb to make even dumber people happy.

A local radio station that does all Christmas music until January 1st uses that damn song in it's advertisements. I want to smash my T.V. every time the commercial comes on! :scream:
