More TOS engine room pics

Hi guys. Does anyone know where I can find detail on the surgical instruments on those frames in McCoy's office. I can't seem to find any close up shots.

Like I said in my e-mail, I'd suggest doing image searches of medical knives and instruments of the 60s or modern era (similar to those seen in Space Seed) and pick ones that fit those vague shapes! It's what I did back in 2013 with Unreal Engine 3 to good effect.

Here was my process.
First, I gathered the best images of the boards and cropped and up-rezzed them

Then, I copied the Space Seed instruments and tried to see if any of them fit the shapes. Some did, others didn't. I ended up omitting some of these.

Which is when I took to Google to find images of similar instruments, and then modeled which ones I thought fit the best:

You could do something similar! I'm going to suggest you do your own interpretation, as always!

That screen cap was the only thing I could find too. Shame it's the only part I need to finish up, never realised how much of Stage 9 was taken up with McCoy's domain must have been the largest area on the set. Thanks Mytran
Seven big standing sets for the character domains: Kirk and Spock had the all the sets; McCoy had the Medical set; Scotty had the Engine Room set; and everyone shared the Bridge set, the Briefing/Rec Room, the Quarters set, the Transport Room set, and of course, the Corridors/Turbolift sets. :)

I thought I would give an update on the sickbay area. Still a bit of fiddly things to model i.e. office shelve props, medical equipment on frames etc. Going to have a break now, when I'm done I'll post another video update. Let me know what you think guys, I have had some problems making some sets fit in with the corridor and making them look "on screen correct" especially in the lab, I was going for "The lights of Zeltar" look (But failed).

Wow - beautiful! I would have personally preferred to use the Green/Black T-neg blood combination from "Journey to Babel" in the transfusion machine, but other than that - perfection! :)

Really great fun. Love all the little details you've included be that a toilet in the brig, the myriad of labels on the equipment or just the creativity in filling the "4th wall" elements like in Sickbay.
Thanks Mytran Glad you liked. I think there needs to be something else on the 4th wall of the office, there is a glimpse of it in Journey to Babel but it was the Tantalus field prop from Mirror Mirror.

SEXXXXXXXY!!! Brilliant work. Three thumbs up! :techman::techman::techman:

ETA: I love that you made your wings look detachable, just like they were on the real life studio prop that Gene Winfield built in 1967. The detailing on your tail gear is super-delicious.

Ship Explorer revealed the real Spock in sickbay and the evil duplicate the only other soul on the ship save first person McCoy?

I have been waiting so long for the hangar bay to be built behind these doors since I built them in 2019, and now here it is. The bay is not finished, at the moment it's very clean, there is a good deal of decal work to do and there is a lot of tewaking beofre it's complete. I have attemted to reconsile the obersavtion deck (The Conscience of the King) with the filming model so I have had to compromise on the interior structure. I have also made a control room above the rear bulkhead which is not ready to show yet. this is accessable through the middle door on the back bulkhead and at the end of a small corridor there is a lift that takes you to the Observation deack and Control room. I will post some more pic to get your feedback in the next few days, I am quite happy with the results so far it's fun walking into the Bay and walking round and going up to the observation deck. Super work. Can't wait to experience the walk-through of the Hangar Bay and Observation Deck. :techman:
