Thanks Gebirg , I don't think FJ blueprints had it in there, I cold be wrong. I guess I'm asking for ideas of where I could put it in relation to the main deck.

    Very nice!
I like your speculative left-hand wall of AC, although in fact we saw that wall in 2 episodes, should you find them useable:

Of course, those were also the episodes where the door to the room when from being a double pocket door to a single, so make of that what you will ;)

This is not one of the standard corridors, it's only about 6 feet wide (instead of the standard 8 feet). It was likely constructed specifically for that scene.

You may be remembering the work done by @feek61 on the Auxiliary Control Room. He postulated the location of AC similar to where you described:

You are correct - the closest FJ came to was the "spare bridge" which was a simplified version of the main bridge design. This is very likely because there were no AC stage plans for him to draw from!

In terms of location on board ship, it was called out as being on "Deck 8" in I, Mudd.

Actually wasn’t there an aux room in the mini set mock-up model from the early days of TOS production?

Thanks for taking the time to post that Mytran, I would seem to suggest that the room is symmetrical to a point.

This looks like a mirror to the right had side of the room as you enter it.
So I could use the existing control panel and display above over on the other side.

As for the location, I was mistaken as to which end of the corridor they were approaching it. I can probably incorporate it into the set position on the second half of my corridor.
    Great stuff. Thanks again.

So after a couple of hours re arranging things I really like the symmetrical layout after being initially against the idea however it does work with the scenes we saw on the show. Here is the result; [IMG]right by Ian Simpson, on Flickr

I was thinking what a great cockpit interior for a TOS type 6 long range shuttle craft this would have made.

So this is going to be the last I work on the project before the holiday so Happy Christmas to all on here.

    Any thoughts on the alterations?

@Ian Simpson - Looking good! The only alteration I'd suggest is to raise the arches where the yellow trim is on. You can see that the bottom of the yellow trim starts at this guy's shoulders and when a little further way you can see the arch goes higher.

I've not seen an arch on both sides of any attempt to recreate the AC room before but to be honest the camera is on so tight in those shots that it could easily have been there and we just missed it!

    Anyway, symmetry is pleasing

So having said I would leave any modelling till after new year here I am still tweaking (I'm sure I'm addicted).
I have created the corridor to the Aux room here is a pic to show where the entrance to that is.

This shot was not shown on the show but I think it looks ok. [IMG]pic 2 by Ian Simpson, on Flickr

Here is the shot where Kirk Spock and Scotty were disabled on the floor.

And the last one. See you in the new Year and again Happy Christmas.

Good job combining both the single pocket doors and the double into the AC entrance! :techman:

What you've done with this corridor is prove something (plausibly) that many have been saying for a very long time; to wit, that different Constitution class ships are laid out differently. Remember, on the Constellation, Kirk and company beamed over into a main corridor, and Kirk found Decker in the AC just off that same corridor, while here you show us Enterprise's AC off in essentially an alcove, separated from the rest of the deck.

I'm not sure it was explicitly shown to be off the main corridor (there was a cut between the two scenes) but one difference is clear - for the USS Constellation's AC room there is corridor access to that adjacent area (behind the mesh screens) which has the large computer consoles.
In TDM, a crewman just walks in there from the corridor. In TWTE, the external corridor shows no such door. Obviously the chief engineer of the Constellation got fed up of taking the long way round and inserted a door there ;)

I promise I won't post any more now. But I thought you all would like to see a drone view of the sets that I have worked on in the last 3 months. Some of the rooms like the conference room and the rec room don't spawn unless you play the game, still I thaught it was an interesting display of my layout.

That's a very long, straight corridor on the left.
It's not the one from WNMHGB by any chance is it?
