There's more. In "I Mudd" we can see that the corridor outside the Aux Control Room door doesn't have the abrupt turn present in "The Way To Eden". This would suggest that the area outside of the AC was modified between Season 2 and 3 (or that the AC was relocated).
It's the latter. In I Mudd and By Any Other Name we see the left hand side of AC and the set was situated in the "wild area" of the sounstage, according to Feek61's research (which seems to fit the visuals and door type)
Hi guys. I thought I would post a video on YouTube showcasing last years update on my project check it out here . Im going to start working on Sickbay so I'll post some updates on that as soon as i have some.
I started blocking out sickbay and have come up with ideas for the unseen walls let me know what you think. sickbay (5) by Tracy Simpson, on Flickr sickbay (6) by Tracy Simpson, on Flickr sickbay (7) by Tracy Simpson, on Flickr Unseen Back wall by Tracy Simpson, on Flickr This is my idea for the examination room back wall, the idea is taken from Mcoy's office right hand wall. unseen back wall (2) by Tracy Simpson, on Flickr This is my idea for the ward room back wall.
As someone intimately familiar with the Stage 9 sets that layout threw me for a loop at first, but damn does it look fantastic all joined together! Love the inclusion of the WNMHGB corridor And celery on the Rec Room plates! So much detail in Auxiliary Control!!! Only correction I can suggest is that it's "work in progress"
Nice find. I wish someone could find a set plan of the Herbarium. I think that is the only purpose built set that remains somewhat of a mystery.
That looks really impressive! Those A pillars in the hallway are unusually thick. Are you thinking of turning those into housing emergency bulkhead doors?
Hey, great job, Ian! I especially like seeing your Auxiliary Control Room, something I haven't tackled myself since my early Quake III engine days. Keep it up!
Thanks for the comments, you know I was corrected of that error in the second update and I go an do it again, I'm an idiot lol
I literally giggled as the camera zoomed in on the forward starboard saucer porthole. This is fabulous stuff, Ian. I have no feedback other than work faster, dammit!
@Professor Moriarty Thanks m8, I am working as fast as I can. Hi guys. Does anyone know where I can find detail on the surgical instruments on those frames in McCoy's office. I can't seem to find any close up shots. Screenshot 2021-04-28 104859 by Tracy Simpson, on Flickr
Compared to the display seen in Space Seed they seem to be an array of much more regular plain knives. How boring! Unfortunately I don't recall any scenes that ever take place in that part of McCoy's office
That screen cap was the only thing I could find too. Shame it's the only part I need to finish up, never realised how much of Stage 9 was taken up with McCoy's domain must have been the largest area on the set. Thanks Mytran
There are several second season scenes that take place in his office: the end scene in "Amok Time", "Journey to Babel" of course, "The Immunity Syndrome" (when they're discussing the 11,000-mile-long amoeba), and a few more, but a quick scan of TrekCore didn't turn up any good closeup shots. Lots of great pictures of all the skulls in "Amok Time", though. (And I love seeing Joyous Spock in that scene. )
