Modern Warfare2 General Thread

Strike? Can't recall a map named Strike-must be losing it. I got my original info from a guy who cracked the game code. He predicted the names of the first 5 DLC maps and he posted the maps names I referred to yesterday. I'll have to go back to him and see what's up.

That list has been floating around for quite a while. You know, a little junk data from the game was pretty obviously not going to be 100% correct as far as what to expect from DLC. After all, it would've been stuff that they were actually testing to some extent in the game and then got cut for various reasons.

It also kind of makes sense that most of the maps from the list that did end up making it into these two packs were from CoD4, since even if they were 100% complete and working when they shipped MW2, had they been included, IW would've just been called lazy. Even if they had all the maps that they did ship and just added them on, people would be like "Why didn't you just make new maps". Bundling 'em in map packs probably makes more sense.

It's IW-sense is not required...

Map pack details have emerged...

5 maps again - 2 CoD4, 3 new. 1200 points again, too.

Vacant -- the wide open Russian office complex from CoD4
Strike -- the urban town surrounded by hotels from CoD4
Carnival -- an abandoned carnival area with a Ferris wheel, fun house and other attractions
Trailer Park -- full of "super tight corridors" and featuring a pool ("Mobile Estates," Bowling calls it)
Awesome!

Fuel -- a "sniper haven" based in and around an oil refinery
WEAK. SUPER WEAK. Snipers are tools.

Actually, snipers are good eating!

Someone wants to snipe, I introduce them to either my noob tubes or my *tap, tap* "Guess what, Lightweight/marathon/smg means I'm behind you!" class.

there was a sniper camping on High Rise on the left as you face flag A. he hit, but didn't kill me. i fired back with my M4 and hit the gas-tank on his perch.

BOOM!

dead sniper +150xp for payback (bastard had killed me before.)

Heh, always a good choice. It is mighty satsifying killing snipers I have to say.

My favorite game is sniper hunting. I figure out where the popular sniping locations are, and I make my around the map visiting each and every one of them, If there's a place that I know someone really likes that particular game, then I'll hit it until they stop using it.

Well, that's just a crappy sniper right there. Nice job getting him with the explosion; kills like that are much more satisfying, in my opinion.

Me, I love sniping. And I'm really good at it. I got my 33-0-1 game while sniping on Wasteland. But I don't just pick one spot and camp there for the whole match. I stick around long enough for maybe two kills before moving on to a new spot.

If they stick to one spot I absent-mindedly leave my claymore there. Silly me!

You know what's frustrating? Earning a nuke while in Chopper Gunner, and not having the Chopper Gunner end until it's too late to deploy it! The game even lets you push the button as the victory screen pops up, but then nothing happens. *sigh*, I don't get enough nukes to be OK with letting one go.

On the bright side that was a danger close chopper gunner that I single handedly won the game with. On Terminal ground war domination... we pretty much getting spawn raped at A. You know, right by where you would board the plane from inside. Tubes coming down that long hallway. Anyway, after a couple of failed attempts to get out of that spawn point, I send a tube shot down the hallway getting a couple of kills, jump out that window to get outside... get my flank on wit the FAMAS, I finally work my way around the back of the plane and to the back of that bottom part of the main building behind the escalators, which flips the spawns. I climb up the ladder by the propane tank, pick someone off for kill #7, drop the harriers by spawn point A, which is now theirs to deal with, very quickly get to my chopper gunner.... and at that point they were all pinned, with danger close on the chopper gunner they really have no hope at that spawn. Once you get the angle to drop rounds into the doorway there's literally nothing they can do. Just nonstop kills and the "you're damaging someone with painkiller" icon on my screen :guffaw:, but sadly it wouldn't let me nuke them to put the cherry on top. Still, we won like 200 to 190, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

Not sure if it came from this game or not, but my best kill streak is up to 38. For all its faults I'm still really loving the PC version over the Xbox version.

I've started giving up on shotguns as sidearms. As nice as it is to switch to one going close quarters, I just run out of ammo on my primary too often. Aside from my tube class and my anti-air class they've all migrated to the Raffica... it's much more appealing to have that when I run out of primary ammo instead of trying to sprint in open space to within shotgun range of some jackass before he notices I'm there. Also silenced Shotguns seem to have atrocious range, and I like to stay off the grid so to speak.

^you gotta go scavenger with any class with a shotgun sidearm, doing that actualy makes the AA-12 usefull

^I think cold blooded and Ninja pro make the AA12 useful. I have cleared entire rooms without having to reload it.

The shotgun ammo isn't the problem. The problem is when my ACR, or FAMAS, or whatever quickly runs out of ammo. I need to be able to engage at a distance.

BTW, I hate how there's no way for me to get a proper ACR class. That thing runs out of ammo so quickly you NEED scavenger. But, you also need a silencer... and to really take advantage of the lack of recoil you need a red dot sight.

In the end I only use the ACR in one class, which is too bad because I really love it. I think it's ACR red dot, stinger, sleight of hand, cold blooded, and ninja. I go red dot instead of silencer pretty much so it's easier for people to find and kill me so I can go back to a regular class after my anti-air work is done. Sleight of Hand really helps get those two Stinger shots off quickly to save retarded teammates from Pave Lows and Apaches.

interesting...Personaly I have a class build around each weapon type then my 6th prestiege slot holds my stealth setup (FAMAS Silenced, AT-4, Scavenger Cold-blooded, and Ninja)

The ACR's irons are some of my favorite in the game, I can easily pull off max-range hits with them.

I like to set up two classes. Both with a silenced ACR. Both of them have One Man Army. The first has Stopping Power and Sitrep(Pro). The second has Cold Blooded and Ninja.

The class with SP/Sitrep is my offensive build. I can hit harder and see where claymores are being placed which makes hunting campers so much easier.

As soon as the enemy team gets a UAV or anything in the air I swap over to my CB/Ninja defensive build.

My ACR is kept filled with bullets, and I swap as needed between the two classes.

It works pretty well.
