Well, team based objective type games require a little bit of cooperation. Communicating where they're camping, attacking in force, preferably from more than one angle. What ruins CTF for me is the Marathon/Lightweight lameness. Also, there's way too much of an emphasis on kill ratio in the stats... in the original COD I was far more interested in winning the game type than ratio whoring, but with the killstreak rewards and all that... Yeah, nobody gives half a shit about winning, except maybe in a team deathmatch that's decided by one kill.Gah, what point is there in even having Capture The Flag if everyone just camps around the flag the whole damn time? I get my ass shot up every match because I'm almost always the only one on my team actively going after the enemy flag.![]()
Stat tracking is cool and all, but in the original game it wasn't saved, so you could savor the good rounds, and forget about the bad rounds, and not look at your overall kill ratio and just feel mediocre. It's also a disincentive to try new things. Lord knows I abandon my experimental classes quickly when they don't work, even if they are kind of fun. For instance I blow at noob tubing, mostly because I'm probably just not used to the arc of the projectile and all the overshooting gets me killed. It's still kind of fun to play with, but if I'm going 3 kills to 12 deaths for a few rounds, it's just a lot more depressing than it really should be!
