Watch enough Reds games and you'll pick up that everyone hates working with Thom Brennaman, especially the former players who loath his "it's not hard to play baseball" rants.
Yeah, I really disliked Brennaman when he was doing Cubs games. I don't know how idiots like that go to the national level, and then I have to listen to him all over again when a game is on Fox or wherever. There's always the radio broadcast.
I didn't like Chip Caray too much either, though it would've been cool if Harry lived long enough to work with him.
I suspect his dad played a huge role in him landing a broadcasting gig. Baseball broadcasters constitute the biggest good ole’ boys club I’ve ever seen.
I really love to listen to the Mets Ron Darling and Gary Cohen, some of the best non-homer callers in the game.
The Phillies are now 11-22 since their last series win. I’ve tried to be patient with Kapler, but I’ve had just about enough of him with this recent slide. Regardless of what the Phillies were expected to do this season, they haven’t succeeded by pissing away their chances for the postseason. I won’t shed a tear if Kapler is fired by next season’s All Star Break.
Tough to keep it from rising when it is so low. Even when you pitch a good game.
Could be they were playing above their heads, and the talent isn't quite there yet. Look at the Mariners, who are in a similar boat. I'd say give Kapler another year.
It’s certainly possible. The Phillies definitely need to add another middle-of-the-order bat and bolster their starting rotation. The quality of the baseball they’ve played of late, however, has been particularly bad no matter how one views their roster.

My eyes were playing tricks on me, and I read “Davey Johnson” as “Howard Johnson,” who had some good years with the Mets before age and injuries slowed his bat down.
I almost cried at David Wrights press conference, you could see the desire to play and just being betrayed by his body.
It’s always sad when an athlete’s body breaks down before he/she is actually ready to quit. Reyes should start next to Wright for old-times’ sake.
