My beloved Bulls played a four-man outfield against Eloy Jimenez yesterday. I wonder if any other teams will do that when he finally gets called up.
He did it in 1,119 games, making him the fifth fastest to hit the milestone behind Ralph Kiner, Ryan Howard, Juan Gonzalez and Alex Rodriguez
I imagine he's #1 in the "total amount of feet" for those 300 dingers? I can't find anything, maybe @Timby or one of you knows a site that lists something like that.
The Phillies have won a nail-biter in walkoff fashion thanks to Asdrubal Cabrera. Two more games left in what should be a fun series against the Cubs.
The Cubs fell back into scoring 1 run against...who? A shame we aren't getting a Hamels vs Arrieta matchup.
There’s always October.
Could be. The Cubs have to hold off the Cards and Philly is closer to winning their division than the wildcard.
After this and the comments during the Osuna trade that Atkins was not dealing in good faith, my "give them a chance" attitude on Ross Atkins and Mark Shapiro is all but gone. I don't want to have Vlad Jr. and others brought into an environment that they will bolt from as soon as they can because of the way they run the team.
I just want Baez to learn how to draw a walk.
Dawg, I was telling you this as soon as Shapiro was hired: He was explicitly hired to cut costs. They traded Donaldson because they were terrified he would accept the QO.
You follow this more closely than I, what in your opinion should be his first target? The MLBPA has a new chief of labor negotiations. Bruce Meyer is not only a labor lawyer with more than three decades of experience, he's the guy who beat both the NBA and NFL in court to win free agency for those leagues' players.
Good to see the MLBPA is serious about getting Clark's mess un-fucked (and I'm guessing Clark is feeling serious heat from the union's executive committee if he hired a legend like Meyer).
