MLB Talk - 2010 Season

I was at the K for a few games last year and it was fairly full. Of course that may have been coming off the freshly done (and badly needed) renovations.

Edit: And...Mets come back from a 6-run deficit! Now 7-6! :techman: I know they're long since out of the '10 playoffs but it would be nice if they could finish in 3rd.

Ok. I was wrong about the Reds winning the wild card. I can't win them all. Oh well

Yankees/Blue Jays game about to start - all the Toronto players have fake pencil thin mustaches to honor Cito Gaston. :guffaw:

unfortunately, Pettitte's not pitching tonight. They switched him with Vazquez at the last minute. :wtf:

Thank you Florida for sucking in this series against the Braves. Why couldn't you win at least one game for crying out loud. Now the Braves have a day off, and next up are a Phillies team that's playing preseason games this weekend. This pretty much means the Giants only option is the West so hopefully they don't blow it. However, if the Giants win the west, the first team would probably be Atlanta, and I would have much preferred the Reds, just because Atlanta has better pitching than the Reds do. Oh well. Need to win the West first.

You a Royals fan? I didn't know that...

I live in Kansas City, it's required of me. ;)

Did you sit by the other fan in the stadium? I hear that guy gets lonely.

:vulcan: ... ... HA!

Stadium actually was fairly "full" this being one of their last games, them being under .500 and was a weeknight game that started at 7:00 (and ended at 10.) Crowd was good and fun and it just really teared me up when during the National Anthem, while I was at a concession stand, that even the concession stand customers and workers stopped to hold their hand to heart. :)

Fun game and fun experience, I miss going to ball games I used to try and go to a couple a year.

Well sadly the Cubs were no help against the Pads...but the Giants didn't need any help tonight. I was pretty worried when Tim gave up that homer on the second pitch of the game..but Pat the Bat came back with one of his own, and boy was it a beauty. With the magic number at 3, it will have to come down to at least one game against the Padres. I'm sure like the rest of the season it will be good ol' Giants baseball...torture.

Looks like we might actually be able to see entire World Series games this year and not have to stay up so late where you can't function at work the next day.

See the guy with the Torture '10 jersey?

Classic...

Go Giants, I'm so not working once the game starts....;)

Haha, I did. That was pretty awesome. Today was a great game too with great pitching from MadBum and the offense getting the long ball working. I'm hoping the Padres lose it tonight just to ensure a tie-breaker in case the worst happens...but the prospect of one game winning the division for the Giants...I am so glad I'll be off of work tomorrow in time to watch that one. If only I had tickets to the park...

Now the Padres have to take 4 games against the Giants. Nothing is impossible, and the Padres have played the Giants tough this season, but this is awesome the position SF is in right now. Tomorrow night is going to be awesome, with the Willie Mac Award, and a possible clinch with Cain on the hill. Can't wait.

And the magic number is ONE! I'm cautiously optimistic atfer having watched how the Padres and Giants have matched up this season, but with Cain as strong as he's been and the Giants' bats seeming stronger...not to mention the loss the Pads just endured...I think the odds are in the G-Men's favor. Good thing I get out of work before the game starts because I wouldn't be able to concentrate. Just one more, boys...just one more.

One more win.

Tonight my two boys and I go from baseball practice, to In and Out, and then the game on TV.

Should be fun...

I'm so excited for this game. The Giants tagline all season has been "It's Magic Inside" and tonight, it very much is "Magic Inside." The anticipation in the Bay Area today has been insane and I think this is really the first time people here have been as excited for a game since Bonds was on the team. I know it could very much backfire and the Padres can win tonight, but I just have that feeling. Whatever happens, this is going to be a fun weekend, and I hope the Giants get 'er done.
