It turns out that he ABDUCTED the girl he was having it off with.

Also there are people demonstrating for that sick son of a bitch, outside DR's Palace of Justice.

Authorities accuse Franco of taking the minor away from her home in Puerto Plata in December 2022 and having a four-month relationship with her with consent from the girl's mother.

They accuse Franco of sending the mother monthly payments of $1,700 for seven months and buying her a car "in order to allow the relationship and let her go out with him wherever she wanted," according to the document, which quoted the girl.

The girl also was quoted as saying she had demanded that a local digital media site publish an item about her alleged relationship with the baseball player because she was "tired" of her mother, whom she accused of taking Franco's money and not sharing any of it with her.

Wander Franco on relationship with a minor: "I took a risk and I loved it"

An extract of the conversations that the baseball player Wander Franco supposedly had and that the Public Ministry uses against him in the request for coercive measures to which Diario Libre had access, reveals that the major league player was aware of the negative implications it had for his future as an athlete to maintain a relationship with a minor.

The 15-year-old minor, whose identity is omitted for legal reasons, was the one who reported that she was sexually exploited by her mother with the baseball player and did so through a digital platform to which she sent screenshots of her conversations with the shortstop.

In one of them, Franco's statements include the following: "My girl, if my team realizes this it could cause problems for me, it is a rule in all teams not to talk to minors and, nevertheless, I took the risk and I loved it," Franco expressed in a screenshot of a conversation on the WhatsApp platform with the teenager, who appears on page 569 of the 595 of the request for coercive measures against Franco and the minor's mother, Martha Vanessa Chevalier.

Furthermore, in the extract, Franco recognizes that the young woman is just a girl, he even asks her to let herself be raised by him in her own way, when she is there she demands him. "I would like you to forget everything you have learned to raise yourself my way" — Excerpt from Wander Franco's conversation with a minor

In said conversation, Franco confesses that he loves her and that he was willing to give her one last chance, but he demanded exclusivity for the minor, who was supposedly in another relationship.

The young woman asked him how he would raise her, "without love, without respect?", to which the athlete responded: "There was more to it, but you're just a girl and you don't know how to get along with me, that's why you failed. But I give you one chance, you should be just for me, don't look at anyone else. I know you've been with someone else, but "No one will know how to use you the way I want and give you."

In her interaction with the digital medium, the young woman justified why she was motivated to denounce the relationship she had with the illegal consent of her mother. "He used me and as you saw in the messages, he bribed me a lot and they took me out of the school I was in because of him, as they say, they have damaged my life and he hasn't even tried to fix it."

Cubs finally do something and sign Shota Imanaga.

He's ... promising, but he has a really troubling HR/9 rate in NPB, and those numbers generally don't improve when moving from NPB to MLB.

I just learned about Matt Harrington, a pitcher who was drafted FIVE TIMES and never signed. Rockies drafted him in the first round, his agent gave him some really bad advice and they turned down $4 million, the next year the Padres drafted him in the second round, he now had Scott Boras for an agent and they turned down $1.2 million.

But instead of going to college he had been pitching in independent ball this whole time, was struggling and his velocity dropped.

The Rays still took in him the 13th round and again he couldn't come to an agreement over a few thousand dollars so another year, another signing that never happened. Then the Reds drafted him in the 24th round and offered him peanuts, then the Yankees drafted him in the 36th round but he needed surgery so they said screw this. Eventually the Cubs signed him (no signing bonus) but he couldn't make it out of spring training, so he returned to independent ball before retiring.

He did make a million out of the whole ordeal out of an insurance policy he had from Lloyd's of London for loss of skill.

They will make a minority investment in Diamond and provide access to via Prime Video. Customers will be able to access their local team's content on Prime Video channels where Diamond has rights. Regional sports content will also remain available on cable and satellite providers.

Diamond owns 18 networks under the Bally Sports banner. Those networks have the rights to 37 professional teams: 11 MLB, 15 NBA and 11 NHL.

I wonder what sort of premium Amazon will put on those channels. Google tacks on $450 (more if you want RedZone) for NFL Sunday Ticket, and that's on top of the $80 / month that they charge for YouTube TV. I guarantee you Amazon wants in on that action.

First year, they may not even add anything, counting on a piece of the ad pie to pay for what they invested.
