I miss Deep Space Nine more than I do Voyager. For me, I felt I got to see enough with Voyager. Any more and it would have been over kill.

Deep Space Nine felt like it could have easily lasted another 3 full seasons.

There was just a lot more important story arcs to continue to explore within DS9.

I mean, could we have seen Harry and Tom create a fleet of Delta Flyer ships for them to command and an actual Elite Force Team created by Tuvok or an alternate parallel time line were the Maquis had killed half of the Starfleet crew and or an episode where Neelix dies for good?

Sure, it would be cool to see that. But on the other hand, it wouldn't really change the nature of the over all show all that much, though. So it's not really necessary for us to see any more of the show.

They could have taken that turn back to the DQ instead of landing in the Alpha Quadrant. The crew stays together and the adventure continues! Change the last three minutes of the finale, and away we go! ;)

Let me explain...

I don't really miss Voyager the show. I miss certain characters on the show. To be perfectly honest, the writing bothered me a lot when I started re-watching it on DVD.

You do have a certain point here.

When Voyager eneded, I was glad that it was over because I was very unhappy with what the show had become. But I can still re-watch certain seasons and be very happy with them. Not to mention that I still miss the characters, I would really have wished that they could have been around in some good books or so.

I have to agree about the writing. There are minor details even in episodes I like which doesn't make sense. But I try to ignore them as lon as they don't ruin a whole episode, just as when I read a Voyager book and run into some contradiction.

In later years, I've started to wish for such a solution too. ;)

I miss it terribly. Im in the Uk and watch the reruns during the week, but still miss it.

I think they could have easily carried on the series in the Alpha Quadrant.

Or in Endgame, they did not end with the escort toward Earth. They included a shot of Voyager approaching San Francisco in the day time. The camera will show Janeway's joy, until the bridge is visible on the viewscreen. Her face turns white as a sheet. Tom quips "The bridge...It's blue".

Ditto. That was the way it was when it aired too. I can take or leave most of the actual episodes. I just miss the people.

The books assuage that somewhat, but not completely, and honestly, I always feel like I've slipped into the Twilight Zone and am peeking in on some strange, hazy AU with them.

I guess I still think of Voyager trail-blazing in far space, never quite making it home.

I'd sure like to see some more of that onscreen, not just in my head. :(

My story is that since the books aren't canon it didn't happen.

My take is the novels are just fan fictions by someone who was lucky enough to be paid for them. They are no more right/canonical than the unpaid fanfics that populate the internet.

I dont miss watching Voyager on TV as I've never been able to watch it on TV, but I do miss the feeling of excitement when a new couple of episodes were released on VHS.

While I don't really miss it, I'm not grateful it's over either. There were a bunch of episodes I really liked but it's not enough to make me loose sleep over.
