Misfits Series 2 (E4)

Surely the best superhero names since Futurama's Captain Yesterday, Clobberella and The King:
Captain Invincible
Mr Backwards
The Invisible Cunt

I didn't see the reset coming until Alisha was dead. I thought Nathan could be saved somehow and losing one cast member would be entirely legitimate. I'd argue it was a better reset button than Voyager ever did.

The Christmas episode looks amazing: "I'm going to kill Jesus!"

Should have been the Easter Special.

I was wandering about that video.

Two possibilities.

1. You ask Alicia the same question, then she's going to supply the same answer depending on the consistency of her present, but sideways in time she's almost the same person.

2. Simon can go back and forth up and down blind allies and dead ends which Curtis is making out of time that should be a one way street. He has explored possibly a few bad futures where everything goes wrong while figuring out his master plan to make Alicia fall in love with him.

Simon should have replied to Nathan that he was the VISIBLE Cunt... But then his lack of verve is what makes him charming.

They've just announced they'll be back for a third series, and last night's episode had their highest ever ratings 1.2m viewers.

I liked it, obvious ending, but that doesn't make it bad. Although, does this mean the future has been changed from the one Superhoodie Simon came from?

No, I don't think so, because in the future Simon came from Simon was not supposed to find out who he was that quickly. So Future Simon is presumably from the future that they created when they went back and killed milk boy.

He didn't learn how to fuck, seduce the girl, go to Vegas or LIVE.

MIlkboy was a dead end they took care of but Curtis would have explained why they had to kill Milkboy before they killed him surely, which means that Simon would have known everything Curtis did to a point?

It seems like everyone they meet with powers who has an offensive capable power turns out to be a baddie... Maybe the exception being ice girl. Which kind of works for the group dynamic. Nobody has an offensive power so they're not able to just zap someone away even though they all have powers.

I was wondering the same thing about a different timeline because in the video isn't Alisha wearing the orange community service jump-suit? They've ended their community service... I'm sure they could have a scenario where some of them end up back there, or a public relations person gets a jump-suit for them to wear for a coming out announcement in the future, but it does seem to be a slightly different future.

It doesn't make complete sense because if Alisha died there then how did future Simon and her ever get together and go to Vegas? and if this future never happened then why does that video exist?

Howard Overman says he has an idea to get them back in the jump suits. Obviously Future Simon has always been in the timeline to keep her alive so they can get together.

My god. I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time. :guffaw:

"YOUR GIVING BIRTH TO AN ALIEN! KILL IT!"

This is like Power Pack (Marvel Comics, the 80s.), a family of preteen super heroes who used to switch their powers around ever 25 issues or so.

Why didn't they let Marnie in on the action?

She's going to be a liability.

Marnie was on the Sarah Jane Adventures last season.

I wonder if they'll let her come back?

Okay.

Did Curtis take Simon back with him?

Because surely he shouldn't remember following Alicia from the demolished timeline? Am I remembering wrong? Because Simon did say that Curtis had to take them both back... But then he could have found out in some other way during the last three months?

The power switch does explain why Future Simon didn't go invisible. I always thought it was more that his power changed based on his feelings. The reason he was able to turn invisible is because he felt invisible... Everyone who gets powers seemed to have it be more of a wish fulfillment thing at the point of power inception.

Now they're changing them around. I hope Curtis gets an offensive power, the group needs someone like that and I think Curtis isn't going to want something so hard to control like his time travel was. Nathan should definitely get his power back though, he's such a dick that he has to worry about someone killing him just for that, let alone running into battles with other powered people.

I don't know how this show can be so twisted, funny and even touching within a breath. It's so awesome. I gotta say my favorite part after Nathan stomping on the afterbirth was when "Jesus" got slammed up against the wall and the Christmas wreath fell onto head

I can't wait for the Americans to buy it, gut the scripts, take out the swearing, underhandedness, murder and humour, then wonder why it fails as badly as season 4 heroes?

I suppose we'll be seeing a test run on their fuckupicity soon enough with their Being Human.

^Well MTV have done E4's other shows, Skins is starting next month and Inbetweeners has a pilot ordered.
Though Howard Overman doesn't seem to keen on an American remake.

I'm on episode 2. This show is sig worthy/quote worthy Every other line is like a gem.

"Maybe he's a Werewolf.."

"TWAT"

I just caught up with this show, burned through both seasons in like 3 days. I'm sad to see Nathan leave, he was the best thing about the show. I love that they're all getting new powers, especially cause the time reset thing was getting old, but I guess Barry would have to have bought that one, so we'll still have that handy plot device.. Unless he gets that at a later point.. I don't get how he can touch Alicia in the past, before she lost her "rape me" powers. I guess he could've bought several, like the Jesus dude, and stocked up with a "resist the urge to rape" power. The Christmas special was the greatest, most subversive piece of Christmas television since the Always Sunny special.

What if Simon (I can't believe you called him Barry O'Dib) in the past also had the same rape me powers that Alisha had? the peopel being raped asume that thy are cogent to some degree, that what thy are doing is logical... So if they're both being rape meed by each other they'd each assume that they were each on the ball.
