Misfits Series 2 (E4)

Ok, I caught the latest episode randomly, having not seen any of the previous episodes. Somewhere between Nathan getting his head caved in, and Bruno turning out to be a gorilla, I think I became hooked. Now I have to go back and watch it all from the start at some point. I already think Nathan is going to be my favourite character.

"Why is a gorilla wearing a gorilla costume?" Genius.

^Haven't I told you to get it watched? Because you really should. It's a brilliant, brilliant show.

I thought it was her dad right from the get go, but they strung it along nicely. Bruno, I guessed her was an animal who'd become human though I thought maybe a dog at first but should have realised gorilla when he had the gorilla costume on.

Next week is the finale, no confirmation yet but there's been positive talk of a third series. Howard Overman was talking about possibly bringing other writers onboard if he can find the right people. I guess since he'll be doing Dirk Gently if that goes ahead he'll need a writing team.

You may have done mate, I've just not been watching a great deal of TV recently, and likely forgot about it.

Has there been an animal-human transformation in the show before? I had no frame of reference, so the thought never occured to me. I just thought he was a bit slow or something. It's the first time in a while that a reveal on a show has actually surprised me.

I'd be surprised if I hadn't, I've been telling everyone to watch it.

Not quite, there was a guy who took on the traits of a dog in the first series, but I don't think he actually transformed.

I thought there were 8 episodes in this series, plus the Christmas special?

The closing shot on this one was brilliant. I too didn't see the twist coming at all, however.

The Christmas special is on 3 days after the season two conclusion. Special of course means that it will be longer than usual, but whether that put's it closer to the hour and 1/2 mark or two hours (without ads) is an interesting question considering each regular show is about 52 mintes anyway.

4OD still has the whole of series 1 up.
That's how I got into it.
Dam I'm on nights when the special airs.:sigh:

^Is it? I looked and they weren't there any more.

Though there is a box set of both series for £17.98 on Amazon.

Yeah, it's good news. I have Tunder Free MCE on my media centre but it's not the best interface, so I'll be glad of something with a more intuitive interface. There's lots of older Channel 4 stuff on there worth watching too.

Yeah, I can stream stuff from my laptop to my PS3, but it means both are tied up at the same time. It'll be a lot better to be able to watch directly from the PS3. And, as you say, they'll have a decent library of stuff to watch too.

So it's the finale tonight, I know there's the christmas special but I believe that's stand alone and not part of the series proper. Looking forward to it. I'll be watching Howard Overman's pilot for Dirk Gently on BBC Four then turning over to catch Misfits right after. Should be a good night of TV.

Yes, I know Curtis' power is basically a giant reset button, but as far as giant reset buttons go? That took the cake away from Voyager.

Entertaining ep, but I was hoping they wouldnt have to resort to the time travel power to sort it out. Oh well, it was a satisfying what if, but as the end of a series? Heh. I hope Sunday's Xmas special serves to round things off a bit better.

As soon as their powers where discovered, you just knew the ep was going to end with a big reset button.
But what I don't get if cheese man could give what's his name brain damaged, how does blowing your brains out not give you brain damaged?
I know milk man was a evil cunt, but I could not help feel a little sorry for him when they killed him, as at that point he was just a sad loner.

^There wasn't damaged that couple be repaired, because the cheese was there still, remove the cheese and he'd probably have been fine.

I liked it, obvious ending, but that doesn't make it bad. Although, does this mean the future has been changed from the one Superhoodie Simon came from?

Don't think so because did superhoodie Simon say something abut Alisha dying?
Which she did but then how would he remember it.
I hate trying to make sense of time travel episodes of shows.

Thing is Future Simon had the video of Alisha talking to the press, but now they never became famous, so how did he have that video...
