Misfits Series 2 (E4)

Catching up on this one now... What exactly is Kelly's accent, BTW? Does it have a name?

I'll admit it's tough for me to decipher sometime, and this is after 30 years of Doctor Who (where admittedly I learned what a chav was). Is the accent a relatively recent thing in the UK? It seems weird to be speaking in a manner where you seem to NEED to put a lot of effort into speaking that poorly and mangling vowel sounds and inflections so far away from the British norm...

Mark

There is no "British norm" there's are a wide ranging set of accents. There's no effort when that is your natural accent.

I'm not actually sure what accent Kelly has, but Lauren Socha seems to have a very similar accent and she's from Derby.

<<<<SPOILERS>>>>

Excuse my french:

I fucking love this show.

It started as one thing and has slowly become something else. I love the fact their working off Nolan's Batman as a template for future Simon. Everything seems to have been taken up a notch this season, and I absolutely adore it.

This is probably the best bit of British TV on right now.

Another brilliant episode. I was wrong about who superhoodie was but I guessed what he was.
I'm beginning to think when Alisha died her heart went to this lass they met last week, so preventing her from dying will mean the other lass dies...

i remember someone saying that when when wolverine was short... No it was a joke about Clair form heroes... She could effortlessly sell a few dozen kindeys a months and be sorted well off.

Would Nathan come back from the dead if his heart was removed?

ie regenerate that much lost tissue.

Simon 2 is the obvious choice otherwise he's never going to hand over his bird to his younger self, and really he either came back for himself, himselves or everyone. Each option would define or redefine his choices and methods and mission objectives.

We can all agree that he is changing the past?

That he is creating a completely different future than which he came from even though his future may survive as a parallel timeline/mirror universe which is completely disconnected causally from the so called past he is living in which makes it a truth that he can kill his younger self without fear or impunity and any lesser timecrimes as they come to pass right down to altering the weight of the universe be just entering history, which by the way speeds up entropy incalculably insignificantly.

^Could be predestination. I mean he remembers Alisha talking to him and him telling her she was beautiful, which only really happened because she met Future Simon. And Future Simon says there are things that must happen for the future to turn out how he remembers, so he's there to make sure it does.

He's forcing time to say the same.

Anyone could do that and anyone could have.

Passing battons.

Relay.

Iterations.

In his own personal (future)history someone else may have been the "original" masked man who let Alisha die.

Simon has to chose his moment. He can only change time (significantly) once before he's as blind as every one else, well a little blinder ever day as what he knows diverges from what is.

Oh god.

What if she has to die, but this Simon is the only Simon who wants to travel back in time over and over again Goundhogdaying himself into her panties over and over again, rather reliving the same days forever than living in a world without her?.

Predestination implies that it is impossible to change the past. If Simon can't change the past (Something Curtis does all the time.) then Simon is fates bitch, but wanting to keep history the same is not the same as being compelled to keep history the same or trying as hard as he can to change history and failing, or just being too ignorant to realize all his choices that he misses his moment.

Predestination usually requires a huge degree of ignorance that the travellers don't understand that they have no free will since it' s almost impossible to repeats acts necessary to the consistency of history if you're instructed what to do.

I think probably Alisha died, her heart went to the girl who's flat the broke in to (Nikki is it?), and Simon wants to save Alisha but in doing so it means Nikki would die. So he's trying to keep history the same, including him being there, but change that one thing.

So unless he's already made some accidental change which is pushing time out of the shape which he is familiar with... Alisha should have already died?

had a thought about Alisha's powerset.

Her powers super charge a body.

Force it to work at a thousand percent.

What if she's a healer?

The first half of the season has been very good. But they had an extremely simple concept in season 1 which generated lots of comical situations, i've definitely gotten a much more serious vibe from this season, so I hope it can remain as consistently hilarious.

The good news is this series has piled on a load of viewers, episode one doubled any previous audience it had from S1.

They will have to give you a job in the PR departments.
Can't get Jax to watch it , he thinks all E4 shows with teenagers in are crap, apart from inbetweenins.

Tie him down and make him watch.

My brother says

he can keep his fantasies to himself

My fantasies of having everyone watch Misfits? Because I don't want to hear any fantasies about brothers and sisters.
