Miranda Likes To Watch Star Trek

The lady does seem very nice. Just not my thing.

It isn't really my thing, either. Though it is fascinating to watch through someone else's eyes on their first view. She is also very respectful of the material, even when you know she wants to scream, "WTF?!"

Like, at the end of "The Naked Time".

not to me. thats when it gets boring, talky, preachy, the good comedy and music leaves, the good sci fi fun plots are mostly over, and i lose interest very quickly. I love season 1 and 2; i love how much more in line with TOS the stories are, i love the weird sci fi plots, the more it goes towards character and morality based stories at the expense of fun sci fi, i lose interest very quickly. i like geordi on the bridge, i like pulaski, etc. It doesn't get much better then best of both worlds, and its already aired yesterday's enterprise and sarek. there is very little reason for me to continue past S3, and i like how my preferred viewing orders parallels TOS - 3 solid seasons, skip the first movie, and you're all good......
While I don’t quite agree, this is an absolutely respectable position. I actually feel somewhat similarly about DS9 (though I liked most of what they did anyway).

Skipping the best movie in the franchise. :p
I feel the same way about TMP as I do about most of latter TNG - well written, deep story, thoughtful, but after watching it once, knowing the twist, knowing the philosphical conundrum, knowing the resolution - its just plain boring, lacks that fun factor, and gives very little reason for rewatch. Its why TOS and TNG S1-2 and the latter movies are more fun and rewatchable then TMP and latter TNG.

Obviously, YMMV, and its just my opinion/personal taste.

TMP had fantastic sets and attention to detail and model work that the later movies don't come close to.

Not sure about "well written".

Miranda's reacting to "Mudd's Women". Should be interesting. It's been a topic of discussion around these parts in the last week or so.

She nails a few of the problems with the episode. Including the Earth-like elephant in the room. ;)

MIRI's teaser certainly goes nowhere and does nothing. You'd think they would have beamed down five minutes earlier, as they usually did.

i follow the Target Audience guys. They are pretty solid. I'm rewatching TNG for this first time since first-run because of them. Although, I will probably quit after S3.
I followed The Target Audience throughout their TOS and TAS reactions and quite enjoyed it. I know I watched their reaction for TMP, but for the life if me I can’t recall if I followed them through the rest of the films. I know I started to watch their TNG reactions, but eventually bailed—at the time I just wasn’t into seeing any TNG.

I do agree that, for me, TNG works for Seasons 1-4, but after that I don’t care.

I enjoyed watching the reactions of the Sci-Fi Dog Lady, but her Star Trek reactions became infrequent and she eventually lost me.

Currently I’m really enjoying the reactions of WarpReactor as well as Bunnytails Reacts. They’re both really into the show with enthusiasm and an open mind.

Hey, we’re not the first to watch someone else reacting to Star Trek. Back in the day we watched the TOS crew reacting to the events depicted in the first Star Trek production “The Cage.” Another “first” for Star Trek.

Here are a few other YouTube TOS reactors for people who need more reactions in their life:

Court Reacts - Watched TOS, TAS + TOS movies, up to TNG s1
Alexxa Reacts - TOS s3
WillTalksMovies - TOS s1 & TNG s1

I have to admit, I haven't seen many of Miranda's videos yet (because I'm also watching Bunnytails and Target Audience and all the rest), but I did click the subscribe button to remind me to get around to it.

I think part of the appeal, for me, is seeing someone younger appreciating something from before their time and hearing their honest appraisal.
