Michelle Yeoh hosts at the Oscars.

Yeoh and McDiarmid sharing the screen would be charisma overload and fry up everyone’s sets! It’s exactly the thing those Emperors would want.

Just have to say Michelle Yeoh is elegant and absolutely gorgeous. I've had a mad crush on her for years. If they remake The Avengers in the near future I would love to see her as Emma Peel!

She practically was 20 years ago in the James Bond film she was featured in.

Though to be honest she was criminally underused in that flick. She couldn’t do the kind of crazy stunts she was known for in Hong Kong due to Hollywood rules.

It's too bad tv doesn't have the budget for CGI'ing 1990s Michelle Yeoh into the Saru short treks flashback episode. It would have been cool to see Bond-era Michelle Yeoh recruiting Saru (the way they de-aged Kurt Russell in Guardians of the Galaxy 2).

Time to get this thread back on a better track....

This is my favorite photo of Michelle. While not connected to Trek, the shapes and colors are evocative. And she has a great sense of style. Go through google images and you will see that she has opted for some great choices in clothing.

I've seen that one before too. She's very elegant and stylish but her photographers should also get some credit for the lighting and background. But yes she's very elegant and stylish.

I first saw her in a Bond movie.

I don't know a lot about acting. But there is a scene in Crouching Tiger between Yeoh's character and Chow Yun-fat's that could have been done over the top dramatically or just have been totally lost. The two of them were able to build this incredibly subtle intensity between them. They create one of the best displays of a love denied that I've seen. Anyone watching this without subtitles or prior context could still read lead a lifetime of longing and loss between the two, and it just won me over completely. I honestly don't know how they did it.

It's been a long time since I've seen crouching tiger so a lot of it is a blur, that one scene however, has always stuck in my mind.

As an aside, this is how I picture the possibility of bringing Q into the Picard show. Start off with John De Lancie CGI'd to look just like he did in All Good Things, and then have an exchange where Q says something like, "would you feel more comfortable, Jean-Luc, if it were to look like I kept up with you?", And then he snaps his fingers and it's John de lancie as he appears today.

Agree with all who have said that DSC is lucky to have Michelle. I was a bit surprised when it was announced she would be back for season 2. No doubt the flexibility presented by the short seasons made it somewhat easier for her.

I didn't know she was presenting last night, so it was a pleasant surprise when they announced her an Pharell. This was in keeping with the Oscar's tradition of pairing presenters who don't appear to have anything in common professionally. Pharell read the name of the winning movie but forgot to read off the names of the individuals who would pick up Oscars. Michelle helped him out.

Classy lady, beautiful and a great actor.
