Medical Update--Possible Setback.

Congratulations. You'll probably be a little uncomfortable on Thanksgiving, but at least the thing will finally be done. :bolian:

I go in on Monday as previously posted. I just got the word its Day surgery so I'll be going in around 8 and the surgery is at 11 and then I'll be released sometime in the afternoon. I do my best to let you guys know how it goes but I probably won't be online that much afterward.

Thanks everyone! The surgery went very well. They extracted all my metal, I can already tell the difference, and cleaned up minor bone damage. They did find a tiny shard that they removed that had broken off but nothing significant. As for my ankle, they detected nothing but that it was "soft" which I took to meaning tender...but nothing significant. I am non-weight bearing until December 11th when I go for my followup. They'll put me in my walker boot and I'll probably start physio...yay...Christmas time physio! I'm doing really though. Just resting.

Glad to hear it. I hope you won't be in any discomfort for Christmas.

I'll most likely be walking by Christmas time so I don't think so. I had a bad weekend, but other than that things have been going great so far and I'm really looking forward to physio in a couple weeks.

I had my first post-op follow up and it went really well and I was basically in and out within about twenty minutes, didn't even have to see the surgeon. They took out my stitches and cleaned up up foot. I got my physio instructions and am allowed to do my range of motion exercises at home rather than go to the hospital...although I'm going back next month for another follow up and I will probably start a bit of physio then. So I'm doing extremely well. Now I can relax and enjoy Christmas :)
