Mass Effect: ANDROMEDA

Just so long as we don't encounter that same building on every bloody planet.
Well given the setting, the only types of building you're liable to encounter are new colony prefabs or ancient ruins. So odds of asset reuse are likely to be high.

Well..... still no real gameplay other then a couple seconds mixed in. We atleast get pretty firm confirmation on that big leak awhile back, what with the Tempest and all. Still leaves us with more questions then answers. Though it does show that there are atleast 3 "Arks" and that they appear to have been constructed over Earth around the same time as ME3, judging by the Alliance Fighters and Dreadnoughts shown nearby.

New trailer just dropped at E3.

Random first impressions: -
A *very* young looking Asari NPC. Like, under 40 years old young.
Young-ish looking Krogan too. Pattern? Did no adults survive the trip?
Player ship not surprisingly looks very Normandy-esq, but much sleeker. Name of 'Tempest'. Just because it sounds cool, or some significance?

ETA: darnit! ;)

A decent trailer, I hope they release something else soon. Given how short it was, having it show concept art and people at computers was a letdown for me. They already did that before, we want to see the game. Showing so little of it worries me that they'll have to push it back further to finish it.

Yeah, I noticed that everyone does seem very young, which I guess makes sense. I mean, lets say this is a last ditch effort to escape death by Reaper. If you're sending a few thousand of your species to a far off galaxy, you're going want them to be of good breading age. Though with Krogan and Asari I guess that changes things a bit.

It'd be interesting for the Salarians to choose their best and brightest, given their short life spans. Mordin's nephew got tenure at 15 years old. Combine their short life spans with their young ages and being in another galaxy, I'd think they could be very interesting to see in ME:A

Unless I'm mistaken, that appears to be the evacuation @1:27, though it doesn't make a huge amount of sense for this to be over Earth as it appears to be. We're probably just missing some context here. Side note: lots of Earth cruisers and dreadnaughts in that scene, but what are those other angular green tinged ships? Salarians perhaps? Did we ever see Salarians ships in ME3? I forget.

The ending seems to imply at least some it not all made the trip in stasis. Probably all given that it took even the Reapers and their more advanced FTL several years to make it from wherever they were in dark space (probably just beyond the outer disc) to the nearest star with a relay. Crossing the vast gulf between galaxies could have taken centuries. Millennia even.

@0:30 Appears to be a look at the new map room/C'in'C. Looks reminiscent of the map from the Leviathan DLC. I wondered at the time if they were prototyping an evolution of the concept. Also note both Krogan and Salarian on the command deck.

@0:44 Looks like the back mounted guns are now at a slight angle rather than vertical. Subtle change, but it makes sense. The unholstering animations could look a little awkward and this could go some way to remedying that.

@0:57 Right thigh holster for SMG? Finally! ;)

@1:21 Are those bones/tusks strapped to the Krogan's armor? With that and the facepaint on little-miss-smiley-McAsari-face and what looks like a fairly rough hewn blade, I can't help but wonder if there's something of a tribal culture going on with the colonists. Could the protagonist have been let out of stasis much later than expected? Have the kids they brought with them gone all 'Lord of the Flies'? Probably just reading too much into it.

@1:24 Renegade interrupt? Or rather renegade not interrupting? ;)

@1:36 I'm assuming that's out protagonist. Possibly even what happens right after you finish with the character designer...but before you quit and reload for the 47th time because the nose looks weird.

I've been trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they're not making it easy. Another E3, another whole lot of nothing.

Makes me almost cry.

like how Ubisoft lied to everyone's faces with the E3 trailer for Watch Dogs and the game was a total let down with gimped graphics and shoddy gameplay.

I've heard a lot of moaning about the trailer already and honestly I'm not sure what people were expecting. They're not going to show a substantial story or character based trailer this far out from release. They're going to want to save as much of that as possible for closer to the release. It's not a good idea to have not very much left to say about your product and no reason for people to take an interest when it's about to come out because you blew your wad months ago.
It'd be the video game equivalent of movie trailers that give away the whole damn plot, including the third act twist.

What we did get was far more than everything else to date all at once. Plenty of in-engine footage. Seemingly finished (or near as damnit) character design. A look at the new ship. A glimpse of the plot. Several shots of the Mako in action and the Tempest on the ground. A good look at one of the new enemies and a possible glimpse as the PC character.

Have they ever addressed exactly how old an Asari has to be to be considered and adult? IIRC Liara was considered "barely and adult" and about 100, but by what margin? A year? A decade? Two decades?

whatever the case may be, we all know Michael Bay will make it a point to write a drawn-out and more than cringe-worthy joke about this in the eventual movie adaptation
