Mass Effect 2

You had the complete opposite experience that I had, because Horizon on Insanity was just a pain in the ass. :lol

Since ME1 was all about the "open world", you could at least figure out ways to game the enemies. In ME2, I felt that it was all about kiting or exploiting the weak pathfinding.
^ Interesting.

For some reason, I had more trouble with the Horizon mission on Hardcore  Hard to say why, maybe bad luck with a Scion encounter ;)

To be honest, I don't kite in ME2, ever. I'm switching cover positions regularly, but I rarely ever backpedal or backtrack through level environments during combat - so far it worked out (I'm currently about to enter the Omega 4 relay).

I kited those giant floating things that shoot lasers at you, mostly because my guys would always die if I didn't draw their attention.

Keep in mind that I stupidly started the game on Insanity on my very first playthrough, because I assumed I had as many options as I did in ME1... boy did Horizon prove me wrong (although, because of enemy scaling, playing a New Game+ on Insanity actually makes the game harder, so it worked out in the end). I was extremely lucky that I was playing the class with the power armor, because my teammates were essentially useless throughout the entire mission (whoever decided that there should be a limit on omnigel when the friendly AI is so bad must be shot :p).

By the time I finished the game, I didn't feel like I figured out how to play the game - it was more like I figured out how to trick the game into letting me win... and that just isn't a very satisfying experience.

I'd love to be able to get Legion early, but I'm not sure if I want to get my whole crew killed to do it. :shifty:

Bringing him along on Tali's recruitment and loyalty missions would be interesting, though.

I've had a look on youtube for videos with regards to that and there are some interesting moments. Tali's initial reaction to meeting Legion on Helstrom is fun, as is Kal's:lol:

I still wish that doing that would instantly resolve that or mission or her loyalty's mission without all the combat silliness.

You'd already be penalized because you'd lose at least half the crew for not rushing through the relay right after picking up Legion.

Actually I saw a walkthrough of ME 2 recently and It looks like after you do the mission where you get Legion you have enough time to do his loyaly mission plus another mission before you have to go through the Omega IV relay.

^Yeah, since she could've died in ME1, if they were gonna do that, it would have to be possible for Kaiden and Ashley. Some major alliance operation.

The trailer seems to imply that none of the other characters will speak, just like the other DLC. Figures.

"Assume control of THIS!"
- SPCTRE, five minutes ago. ;)

Finished the Insanity playthrough in Vanilla gear, what a ride! Wouldn't have thought max difficulty would improve the combat that much, fun-wise. Highly recommendable.

I tend to not bother with the high difficulty levels as in my experience all they doo is add more enemies and/or make them more of a chore to kill. I'm curious though, exactly what difference does the "insanity" setting actually make to the game?

Just watched the Shadow Broker trailer; looks like we finally get to fly one of those skycar things, fun! Mind you, between this and Firewalker I can't help but wonder if Bioware are using the ME2 DLC to test or iron out gameplay elements for their Star Wars MMO next year. From what I gather from Gaimtrailers.com they announced a very similar looking space combat system for 'Old Republic' about the same time this trailer hit.

...Oh and my femshep is totally looking forward to *ahem* "seeing" Liara again. ;)
