Not necessarily. Levels are definitely a curve, not a line! Your first runthrough you'll be capped at level 50.I just hit level 30 so I guess I'm around halfway through the game.
Amazon. The code inside for free DLC might still be good. (Plus I don't like used sales in general.Definitely thinking about the best way to get my hands on Mass Effect 2. Used game store, or Amazon?
throwback, you need to spoiler code that entire second paragraph. Ood Sigma is still playing the first game.
Christ sake man! He's still playing the FIRST BLOODY GAME! SPOILERS!
How hard is it to not spoil a game for someone. I'm enjoying reading his "virgin" reactions to the ME universe! So don't ruin it!
HotRod I completely agree with you...
Well I've managed to finish the Noveria mission so I just have Feros and Virmire. Definitely getting the hang of the combat, both in the Mako and on the missions. Occasionally I'll get overwhelmed and die but I've picked up enough tricks to figure out how to win. And isn't that one of the constants of RPGs? Adjusting strategy to the enemies' weaknesses?
I'll second Amazon, the free DLC is worth the extra cost. If you're willing to pay for it then all the story DLC in ME2 is worth it. Although you might want to hold off on downloading the last two until you've finished the game, they're supposed to be post-game content but if you download them early then they'll pop up in the middle of the game and break the flow of the story.Amazon. Lair can be done either-or, but the writers intended it to be done post-finale.Kasumi's Lost Memory should absolutely be done before the endgame, otherwise it makes no sense. Lair of the Shadow Broker can be done either or. Arrival should be done post-game.
Yes, I did his quests. He's dead now. Those were the Cerberus quests, right?
It seemed like the Paragon thing to do. I have a tough time in any game (like Dragon Age: Origins) going the "evil" route. I guess I just don't like people mad at me, even if they're fictional! Anyway I hope my decision doesn't come back to bite me the way Ashley seems to think it will.I chose to let the Queen go.

I think Overlord is supposed to be pre-finale, though.
Yes, the ice planet is the one giving me fits. I'll try it again tonight. My problem is the cannon is relatively ineffective against the snipers, and I can't take out the Geth Colossus quickly enough because of all the fire I'm taking from the snipers.
Yes, but then you're missing out on the XP, even if it is halved. I'd agree with you if it were like ME2 where you're granted XP on a per mission, not per kill basis. Just took an infiltrator through ME2 and I'd often cloak just to bypass combat and reach an objective, since you don't get anything for killing. What I found with the Mako missions is to just DRIVE. It's usually not contingent on completing the mission to kill everyone- just drive through them and you'll get to where you're going.
