Marvel Studios may be planning more MCU for the small screen

With regards to Marvel potential getting some X-Men characters back.

Keep in mind that X-Men Apocalypse and Old Man Logan are the last time we are going to see the current actors play those roles.

Jackman, Mcavoy, Fassbender, Hoult, Lawrence, Stewart etc, won't be coming back for any future X-Men movies.

This potentially frees up the major X-Men players to be recast and used in an MCU property.

While Fox goes ahead with Deadpool, Gambit and their New Mutants movies.

Again, this is speculation, but it could happen if Marvel and Fox make a deal like Sony did for Spider-Man.

Has there been any actual confirmation that Mcavoy, Fassbender, Hoult and Lawrence are all done after this movie? All I've seen are rumors based on the fact that they had 3 movie contracts and that Lawrence might want to move on.

Regardless, there's no way Fox would keep the rights to the X-Men universe and give away the rights to Magneto and Professor X, even if they don't currently have plans for them.

As far as I know, Hoult's the only one to rule himself out. There's some wiggle room with the others, even Lawrence.

If they do do a dimensional rift X-Men / Avengers team up, I repeat, Old Man Logan must appear - I think Superhero movies in general owe Jackman that much...

I hope this is in addition to the previous announced plans and not replacing something already on the slate. There have been rumors that Marvel was having trouble coming up with a workable plan for Iron Fist.

I would still prefer to see the X-Men remain off in their own universe. Their whole deal with being a persecuted minority, with one faction trying to gain acceptance through peaceful means and the other faction advocating mutant supremacy by any means necessary, works so much better without a bunch of other superpowered people hanging around. Mutants would actually be redundant in the MCU at this point, because the Inhumans are another subspecies of humanity whose ancestors were experimented on by aliens, leading to them developing superpowers that mundane humans fear and don't understand.

I feel like Moon Knight is one of those things where if you repeat something long enough people will believe it. It gets announced as a rumor every four to six months. I'd like to see something about why this rumor is more plausible than the last one.

I hope the Moon Knight rumor is true, especially the part about it replacing Iron Fist because they're having difficulties writing the character. I've always much preferred the story behind Moon Knight over Iron Fist although I haven't really read much of either their comics.

I hope Iron Fist works out. The first comic I ever bought with my own money (two dimes or maybe a quarter) was Iron Fist.

I'm not fond of Iron Fist, but I can't see the Daredevil, Jones, Cage thing working without Cage's buddy. Mind you, he may be easier to use as a supporting character in the other shows. He could be introduced that way.

If they do a Moon Knight show and the integration into the cinematic universe of the Wesley Snipes Blade doesn't come off, Kirk 'Sticky Fingaz' Jones would be a welcome guest alonside Spector. Spector was, after all, namechecked in Jones's Blade series...

Moon Knight would have the same problems with tone as Iron Fist. They both tie street level brawler with supernatural origins. Moon Knight is just more complex because they have to deal with issues of how sensitive they need to be to the issues of mental illness. I don't buy for a second they can't figure out Iron Fist (a character they've been setting up carefully through the other properties) but they could figure out Moon Knight.

I thought they were pushing the K'un-Lun stuff pretty hard in Daredevil. Would hate to not see that realized.

I wouldn't know. I know nothing about Iron Fist aside from the basics.

Yeah, we've already started the build up to Iron Fist, I'd hate to see that not go anywhere.

Charlie Houston's run on Moon Knight about 10yrs ago was the first one to alter Marc Spector into possibly having a mental illness. It's still never been a confirmed trait even now. The Bendis run then also utilized that w/Marc dressing up as other Avengers. However, during or about this same time when Brubaker utilized MK in his Secret Avengers title he played MK straight up, no questionable mental illness issues. The concept of the character for decades before was he simply used other aliases to achieve different results.
I'm over this possible take, which hasn't ever been confirmed, and the opening of the new series by Lemire opens in a old school style mental institution. I feel it's played out.

What a Moon Knight series could do is just approach the character as he was at inception and for decades with on hint of mental illness. Problem solved.

I actually read a rumor (and I'm sorry that I can't provide a link) that said that Marvel was thinking of pushing Iron Fist back a year and replacing it with a Punisher series instead. While I would hate to see IF get pushed back, it would be better than out-right cancelling it.
