What grade would you give the Marvel Cinematic Universe? (Ever-Changing Question)

Just because that was high tech in 1970 doesn't mean there weren't any copies made since then.

He'll be showing up in that body that has the face on the chest and no head.

Are you talking about MODOK?
 
The pic DEWline posted is of Armin Zola from the comics. The body has Zola's face projected in the chest, and the head is a camera. Variations of the body have housed Zola's consciousness in basically all of his modern day appearances in the normal Marvel comics.
 
^I missed that. Kinda looks like a live action MODOK. I don't think the mini arms and legs he sports in the comics would pass with audiences.
 
The writers of TWS actually considered having Zola get up and walk away. The people higher up said "we already have him living in a computer, don't push it." I really do think what we got is as far as we'll get (and, to be fair, it was pretty cool).
 
And they left the door open for backing up the Zola AI for later reappearances anyway. So, there's that. Once Ultron walks through the door, the precedence is set.
 
Not likely. They'll want to keep the two characters separate and distinct, as in the comics.

GOTG still has a talking Racoon and sentient tree on a team fighting bad guys. I like the current Black Widow comic (and almost all of her old ones I've read), but a superhero movie needs superhero things. An alien weapon, super bad guy groups with super weapons, just something to make sure its not James Bond with a few Marvel names thrown in. Black Widow shouldn't be killing and seducing random bad guys to get back military defense codes or stop some random terrorists from killing random people. She needs to be stopping some super criminals by infiltrating bases and kicking butt. The character isn't 007, or Bourne.

Its the Marvel Movie Universe. It needs HYDRA, super powered criminals, and/or alien tech in the wrong hands. Those can all fit in a spy story. If people want bland spy stories, they have James Bond for that. BW isn't just a spy, she's a superhero who does things that would kill people like Bond without effort. She can do spy things, but there needs to be things like transforming bears or evil russians in armored suits at some point. Even Captain America has fought bizarre nazi's with deformed heads and his mind controlled ex-friend on a giant flying aircraft carrier. A spy story is fine, but like everything, it needs to have the Marvel style. She can do spy things and fight superhero style threats/plots, and marvel isn't going to do a generic type movie for anyone. They all have superhero/comic book elements, and that's how it should be.

I disagree with everything you just said (except for liking the current Black Widow comic. I like it too).

Sure, if they want to, they could. But I'd argue once it follows Ultron, it's not going to be as exciting and would appear kind of derivative. Zola had a good exit that was handled quite well. They should only bring him back if there's a really good reason.
 
You'd have thought the place to use him would have been in the post-credits scene. The only two reasons I can think of not to is that they're actually done with him for good, or they're saving him for something else. Maybe Cap 3, maybe a solo Bucky movie or yes, maybe AoS.
 
With so many characters to use, they may want to use more of them, but there are similarities with some of them, too.

It kind of becomes a fight between, "this guy again" or "who are these new guys"

I'd 100% love to see MODOK, but his arms and legs aren't tiny, they are normal size, they are tiny compared to his giant head.
 
Am I the only one who hopes that maybe Avengers: Age of Ultron will have a post-credits scene that goes something like this:

Stark reviews Ultron's creation and finds that Hank Pym was a Stark Industries programmer (offscreen) who accidentally provided the pivotal coding for Ultron to become who he was.

That way, Age of Ultron can hint at Ant-Man and nod to Pym and Ultron's connection in the comics. I'm really hoping that Joss Whedon was bending the truth when he said that the MCU version of Ultron was Stark's creation.
