Maybe they will make it back in Merch sales?...seriously though, many of the names listed to not strike me as those who would accept lower salaries unless there was a compelling reason?...
I mean, Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya and Stellan and Austin Butler and numerous others did it for the Dune movies.

According to the leak, it's revealed at the end that the Peter we've been following the whole movie...and maybe even since Far From Home, is actually the clone Ben Reilly created by the Jackal and the real Peter Parker has been frozen and trapped by the Jackal somewhere to be released during Secret Wars.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!?

I am intrigued by this, especially as it would set up the future Spider-Man film where the real Peter learns that Aunt May had died on "Ben"'s watch, assuming the "switch" happened before Far From Home, which would drive conflict between Peter and "Ben.".

My problem with it, though, is basically the ten years where audiences have been following the developments of a "false" Peter, and the "real" Peter is effectively reverted back to a pre-Infinity War status quo, but with more emotional trauma. (May is dead, the world doesn't know Peter, etc.) MJ and Ned will have grown up, but Peter intellectually and emotionally is still a high school kid. Handled well, it could be interesting. Handled poorly, and it's a fustercluck.

I don't buy it; it
takes too many key moments from recent Marvel history and makes them a bit of a joke, including the three Spider-men meeting up.

I could see a clone story within a film but not one that wipes out that much history.

Man, it sucks that I know you're not reading these because seriously, you are so far from the truth. All those stand alone heroes you talk about, had supporting cast.
Remember the end credit scene from Iron Man? "You are part of a much larger world, you just don't know it yet."
Well guess what, so is Peter AND he does know. He was recruited into a fight between the Avengers. OFCOURSE they are going to be part of his movies, because they are a part of his world. Tony was established as the one that found him, and Tony takes care of his own. Ofcourse he was part of the first movie. Fury (even though not Fury but Fury by proxy) knows of him, OFCOURSE he would recruit this young talent for a mission. Peter now needs help.... OFCOURSE he's going to ask an Avenger.

Spider-Man was always the focus of his own movies. Stark, Fury, Strange... in comparison to him they hardly had screentime. Your logic isn't logical, it's emotional.

I read everything. I just reject the argument being made based on mine own viewing.

Spider-Man: The Animated Series showed how one can tell Spider-Man-centric stories whilst also having the character existing in a Shared Universe, and is still the benchmark onscreen interpretation - in any form - of Spidey's universe (even surpassing the Raimi Trilogy).

Indeed, your comment proofs my point. The animated series had LOADS of other superheroes without compromising Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Thank you for proofing my point with a simple post. Just like the Tom Holland movies. Literally like the Tom Holland movies.
Other heroes mentoring him, him going to other heroes for advice/help. Shared villains. I'm really sorry but you really just proofed my point. I grew up with that show and it's one of the reasons why I feel the Tom Holland movies are (so far) the best interpretation of the character.

That's not actually what I want at all.

What I want is for Spider-Man to actually be the focus of his own movies just as Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Ant-Man were.

Then you're in luck. There are three recent movies where he is and a fourth on the way!

Look @Nerys Myk , i can see @DigificWriter 's point. While you and me might be OK with the guest appearances, somene else can reasonably feel like Spiderman is being upstaged by others.... like Peter really being an Intern for Stark (not just the cover story for Aunt May) It worked for me, but i see and sympathize with the point.

Thanks to Sony, not happening. Their demand for MCU Spidey movies is that he always has to have an MCU co-star to maximize potential audiences, probably because Sony is still upset that they turned down getting all the remaining Marvel characters licensed to them back in 2000 or so when they had the chance.
I think they are more upset that their interference caused the collapse of their 2 Spiderverses, and not making them billions. They saw how Marvel was able to make them big bucks with little effort on their part, so they are gonna stick to that strategy. And if Marvel Studio characters get them even more money, they are down for that.

Well, maybe very brief appearances? I know Zendaya and Lupita got like a million dollars per minute of screen time (NOT an exaggeration), but maybe they were willing to go a but less with Avengers, since it would also be brief, but good for their PR.

Or if not merch, maybe a percentage of movie sales???

People can make this argument until they're blue in the face, but it won't suddenly become true.

The Tom Holland Spider-Man movies are not about Spider-Man, and that's why they suck.

This is your opinion.
It is not fact. Deal with it and move on. You are not the authority. Just one person on the internet. Nothing more than that.

I suggest you find comfort and truth in that and realise there are people that agree with you. And those that do not. And an infinity of truths in between that you seem to not be able to fathom. Understand that, and it will make your life on the internet a lot more comfortable.

Anyway.... Imma make dinner and watch Brooklyn99 and feel great that I will spend tomorrow and the day after that with a 7 year old that is like my daughter and she thinks of me as her dad and that is a lot more important than arguing with people I don't know on a forum.
Wishing you a great evening, or afternoon, or morning depending where you're from. Enjoy the latest Spider-Man movie. Or don't. Enjoy Doomsday, or don't. I couldn't care less. And I truly hope you feel the same instead of spending several posts today convincing people we should think like.

Holy shit!! How funny would it be if we both did not like the next Spider-Man movie? Or!!! You love it and I hate! The possibilities of NOT being stuck in a singular downward mind set! You should try it. Love you!

Sure jan.gif

The presence of other characters, who's screen time are minimal, doesn't make the movie about them. Spider-Man is central to the plot of all the Holland films. All the films are about Peter, his relationship with May, his friends and the navigation his double life.

But, Nerys..... Did you not see!!! These movies DARED to have characters in them that were NOT Spider-Man!! Heresy!!!

Sorry, still making dinner and I was tempted to check my notifications. Sorry for this, we agree Nerys, but was too good of an opportunity. ;)
