The original "No Capes!!!"

Chris Evans actually heard a Nomad pitch, among others, from Marvel before finally agreeing to come back for Doomsday.

Sounds a bit like The Incredible Hulk. :D

Probably more like Route 66, which was one of the inspirations for the wandering-hero format used by the Bixby Hulk, along with The Fugitive. And maybe Jack Kerouac's On the Road is an even earlier antecedent. ("Hard-Traveling Heroes" probably owes a debt to both as well.)

i wonder if the avengers 5 aka avengers doomsday is gonna have another main eventer style great war battle scene like in the avengers 4 aka the avengers endgame when it was thanos and his army vs the avengers

or if the battle scene is gonna be a mid carder style like in the avengers 3 aka the avengers infenity war

For all of the people who said there wouldn't be a new trailer for SDCC, I only have one thing to say -- neener, neener, neener!

Spoilers await!

I mean, I didn't expect it to be released to the public right away, but I felt that they were going to have to release something...

Only thing wrong in that article is when it says Captain America (Chris Evans). Literally just saw a instagram reel with Mackie being interviewed and him stating Chris is NOT back as Cap. He's back as Steve Rogers.

summary or source?
According to the leak, it's revealed at the end that the Peter we've been following the whole movie...and maybe even since Far From Home, is actually the clone Ben Reilly created by the Jackal and the real Peter Parker has been frozen and trapped by the Jackal somewhere to be released during Secret Wars.

Which is why I said a bit. I mentioned it because it was the parallel I'm most familiar with...and it’s a Marvel character show.
Don't take it personally...the REST of us vibe with you, and the Incredible Hulk would have been the first thing WE thought of too. If someone else had posted it, Christopher would have "corrected" them as well, even though most people would NOT have thought of those things, or certainly not the FIRST thing that would have come to mind.

Come to think of it, the two Reb Brown Captain America TV pilot movies from the '70s had a similar kind of "on the road in search of the real America" vibe. (Not to mention a terrific Mike Post/Pete Carpenter theme tune.)

It was wild speculation at the time.
No, it wasn't it obviously was a legitimate leak. You were wrong, you really need to just admit it.

That's gotta be bullshit, it feels like the kind of thing someone who doesn't like what they've done with Peter made up a way up because they want him to be closer to what they want to see.

Yup, I stand corrected. Based on the description I've seen on io9, it wasn't just one scene like I thought it would be.

I did not look into that spoiler box and I would like to ask anyone who reads it to please spoiler code any of your replies.
Yeaah...we're heading into shaky territory and we're four months away. On the plus side, people have been good about the Brand New Day leaks which I've greatly appreciated. On the other hand, the time between leak and release is far smaller with that film than Doomsday, so I am a little worried.

Interesting THAT supposed Spider-man leak is completely different than the other one going around which I suspect is equally ridiculous! LOL

Seriously we are days away from its release. Both leaks I read are written to agitate fellow fans.

I agree with Kevin Feige on fans romanticizing how Thanos was built up. As a non Marvel fan I did not get the big deal with all those teases. It was the equivalent of being on a road trip and seeing miles to New York signs decreased the closer you get to it!

Getting Dr Doom’s full background and history in single film is not a problem. It’s traditional movie making. The big question is- how important is that he is played by same guy that played Tony Stark? Than he is really just an Iron Man variant and that history could overshadow any of Doom’s new backstory. Having an actor playing different superhero characters is not new. But no one interacting with Chris Evan’s Captain America for first new time knew him already as the Human Touch. That was a joke acknowledged much later. Right now it appears we are getting a Doom that most of the cast and all the audience already know as Iron Man. That’s not the Doom of the comics.

Not necessarily. Even aside from the fact that Dr. Doom traditionally never shows his face, people seem to be forgetting that Downey is a brilliant character actor who can transform himself almost unrecognizably.

Heck, people actually thought Thanos was a loser before Infinity War because all they'd seen was him sitting around in Avengers, Guardians and his "I'll do it myself" clip. Up till Infinity War all his appearances were him LOSING.

Disappointed to still not get any Shang-Chi 2 updates... makes one wonder if, what with the whole post-Secret Wars reset, that movie will happen at all. I guess I'd forgotten there won't be any MCU movies in the full year between Avengers flicks, and that shortly after we've just gone about a full year since First Steps. Couldn't Marvel have made/been making a Shang-Chi 2 for release next summer, set before Doomsday if necessary?! I can see not making a Doctor Strange 3 in that window, if they wanted to keep the multiversal action for the Avengers, but surely Shang-Chi would have been ideally positioned for a lower-key, Ant-Man and the Wasp-scale outing??

Right now it appears we are getting a Doom that most of the cast and all the audience already know as Iron Man. That’s not the Doom of the comics.

In the trailer shown at SDCC, both Sue and Reed call him Victor. He's NOT Tony Stark. That's been established.
For some reason, IF and only IF he takes the mask off, he might LOOK like Tony, but isn't.
For example, because of Deadpool it is now established that the FF where Evens played Johnny is part of the MCU Multiverse. However, even though in appearance he LOOKS like Cap, he's not a variant.
Now take Mr Fantastic. In Strange 2, we was played by a different actor and thus looks different, but thy are both Reed Richards. That is established as a variant.
A lot of you are getting the term variant wrong. Now, should Doomsday at one point say something like 'my real name isn't Victor von Doom, but Tony Stark', then yes he's a variant. Because variants can also look like each other, in the case of Dr Strange for example.

What I am saying is, the people watching might know him as Iron Man, but they all accepted Chris Evans as Captain America after him being Johnny Storm. Hell, other established actors from iconic roles have been in the MCU, people accept them as the character they played there. Same goes for RDJ, he's a great actor and can pull of a different character than Doom.
Now, as for the characters (not cast), again, we do not know yet if we will see Doom's face. His voice is already different, so there we go. So if they (faithfully) not show his face, nothing is wrong.
And for those saying 'well, they could have just hired anyone to play Doom than', you really don't know anything about mask-theater and how incredibly hard it is to play a character and show emotion through body language and voice only. You need a great actor for that. Again, something RDJ can do.
And yes, I'm not naive, of course having his name attached to the project is a great way to get a lot of attention back to a CU that has been struggling. But Feige and the Russo's also want to deliver a good product, so they want someone to pull of a character that has a lot of impact in the comics, and thus needs a good performer.
